I have been in the BDSM community far before the movies and whatnot
And I can easily say the relationship between Anastasia on Christian is easily domestic abuse and not BDSM

BDSM is based around consent
Throughout the ENTIRE time
Not just signed off at the beginning/'selling' yourself
In the BDSM community, things like "no" and safe words are fiercely respected. Trust is key.
this is NOT shown anywhere in these books and movies

So yeah, all it really does is shine a REALLY bad light on us
