Don't see them as opposites. Sure, Mulan went to army and Poca stopped the war from happening but the situations were different. I don't think that Poca is naive enough to believe that she can stop Shan Yu with peaceful means. And we can't say that Mulan enjoys fighting and doesn't value peace( remember the burnt village scene?). Chien-Po is one of the gentlest and most peaceful Disney characters ever but he still fought for his land.
