Weirdly, but perhaps naturally, it's fitting. The last truly great remake before this one was Lọ lem 2015.

Disney has made some remake okays ( Aladdin, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland 1 and 2 ), and some real stinkers since then (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan, the upcoming The Little Mermaid, and Pocahontas certainly share this category), as well as ones I just don't wish to bother with ( Maleficent 1 and 2, Lady and The Tramp, Christopher Robin, and some thêm that were shoved onto Disney+). I will say this. Cruella was a definite surprise. It hit the same remake category that Lọ lem sits in for me. And I am so deliciously picky these days. So, yeah. bạn have one truly great Princess remake, and one truly great Villain remake. The rest are just a mixture of okay, forgettable, and truly a travesty. Um, so, thanks Darling. It was a pleasant watch, and I believe I enjoyed it.

Silly backstory aside, I'm hearing a lot of good things about this remake and I can't wait to watch it! Even after hearing about one twist at the end that might just be one of the worst ideas Disney had (besides their gần đây films and remakes) I hope if Disney does do another villain remake it'll be another Cruella and not a Maleficent because I really really want to see an Ursula movie

Agreed! I’ve been wanting an Ursula movie for years, if they ever do make one it better be done right hoặc don’t make one at all

And if they make one I hope they just keep her as a villain instead of just making her misunderstood. Those stories are great if done right but not every villain needs a sad past, they’re just evil because they tình yêu it

I personally thought Cruella was a mess, primarily because they tried turning a woman, who is famous for being cruel and inhumane to animals, into a female role model. A lot of people compared this movie to 2019's Joker, but the difference is that Arthur Fleck is a mentally ill person, who got constantly crapped on throughout the entire movie until he reached his breaking point and responded via violence. We sympathize with him, but we don't have to agree with his methods.

Another, even worse stinker is the Mulan remake. The movie keeps hiển thị off how strong Mulan is, not because she worked hard to earn it and had genuine wits to figure things out, she simply has magic chi powers. Also, she was boring as dirt in the remake. Made worse bởi the fact that the actress who played her actively supports China's takeover of Hon Kong.And what's even thêm insidious is that the film was shot tiếp theo to a concentration csamp wherein they reeducate hoặc murder Muslims. I'm not making this up! Disney has gone so far out of its way to get as much money as possible that they've become complacent in genocide. And what's ironic is that Walt Disney himself hated communists, and now his own company is collaborating with them.
