No, I prefer Jean Cocteau's 1946 La Belle et La Bete. It's really amazing, cool effects for the time. And more romantic imo.

La Belle et la Bête(2014) by Christophe Gans. Starring Vincent Cassel,Léa Seydoux & André Dussollier. I love this version, everything is perfect in it and the plot is gorgeous as well <33

I have just watched all versions of the story around, and I like the Disney version the best by far. Not the closest adaptation, but the most layered. Not that the Cocteau version isn't important, but older doesn't necessarily mean better.
