I was either 9 or 10, shortly after it was published in America.

It was shortly after the 4th book came out, but shortly before the first movie.

Hmm, I'm not too sure. I read the first 2 (not the whole way through) when I was 7 or 8 (I think) but I properly started reading the whole series at around age 11 or 12.

Maybe 7 my parents read it to me at age 5 I picked on reading at an early age and Harry Potter was my first chapter book.

I read Book 2 when I was 11. (I didn't read book 1 until later for unknown reasons)

9 when it came out in 98 here in America. Then I read every book as it came.

When it finally came to my town.

I started reading in 1998 when it was first translated into Finnish.

(^ the Finnish translations suck -_-)

After all, seven is the age by which one usually discovers magic.

I finally decided to read Harry Potter when my grandmother bought me the first book.

Um...I remember I my mother was still pregnant with my little brother and I finished reading it a couple of days after he was born, so I was 6. Wow...I was in the first grade. It seems so far away now that I'm a freshmen in college. >.<

I wasn't a very good reader until Harry Potter :)
In second grade, I was that little girl who was always reading the Captain Underpants books. I'd talk and argue about them with the boys at my temple (I was a bit of a tomboy)

Well, my mom read them to me and my sister, but I don't quite remember when I picked one up myself. somewhere between the ages of 9-11...

About a year/year and a half after I discovered Twilight.

my teacher read one in class. I liked it and read the other two that were out at the time.

2nd grade. It was the period in between the PoA and GoF films. There was so much hype me and my parents had to see what was up!

I was being read them when i was like 4 though :)

Either 14 or 13-sometime during 8th grade. My BFF convinced me to read it.

I would have been five or four, because I remember I was reading it when my Grandad was making a bunk-bed. If it was my bunk-bed I would have been four. If it was my brothers, it would have been five :L x

I hadn't heard of it until PoA came out, so it was probably around here somewhere.

:( I wish I was younger, but I was too closed-minded to give it a try. So, I began them last November (the 29 to be exact, at about 3 or 4:00 to be even more exact) and I loved them :D

I just got finished reading it a few weeks ago, actually.

I watched the first film in 2001 at age six and the second film in 2002 at age seven. In 2003 (before I turned eight) I began to read the first book. And I loved it.

I really wanted to read it. My mum helped me out a lot.
