Pre-development Merida, i still think she's likable, but whiny spoiled characters tend to be annoying.

I kind of dislike it, anyway. Like Merida, at the beginning of her movie Ariel is irresponsible, immature, and disregards her friends and family - which would be alright, if her character improved like Merida's does, but it doesn't seem to.

I'm sorry, but for all her supposed intelligence Belle does a lot of very stupid things, she blatantly disregards the wishes of others,and is really condescending to the people in her town. She never owns up to any of it and isn't expected to either. Nothing is ever her fault.

And I hate to say it, but Tiana has some pretty mean/insensitive moments, too. (She's still my favorite, though)

Put quite simply...

Elsa NEVER FACES or SOLVES HER OWN PROBLEMS. She lets her sister give her the answer.

Merida is disobedient, is a total brat, and is completely thoughtless.

Anna is the most clueless of the bunch.

Rapunzel is too gullible.

Tiana is bossy, is a self-righteous nag, and has a total mean streak when things don't go her way.

Belle is a snob. She's better than everyone around her, or so she thinks.

Pocahontas DOES NOT RESPOND to the problems she faces.

Jasmine is a hot-head with anger issues.

Ariel is disobedient, impulsive, and is too eager to accept false promises.

Aurora does not have much characterization.

Mulan is lazy, tardy, etc...before she gets "whipped into shape."

Cinderella is too shy and meek.

Snow White is cute, but she's very bossy like Tiana.

NONE of these girls are great. We just don't talk about the REAL issues all that often....

@Unholynoise That kinda indirectly fuels the fire. My friend told me that "Oh boy here we go" reaction is a mild way to provoke disputes online. Anyway, I pick Elsa for her personality or lack there of. And to the inevitable argument "Isn't this just like a favorite DP countdown" Nope. If that were the case I wouldn't be voting for Elsa, trust me.

She is just dull to me. Yes she is brave, daring, and ever so mature(uhhh...sure) but she just sort of mopes around. She is shown to have every possible character trait, yet she is still dull. She doesn't develop and shown to be right about everything in the end. Her personality is bland
