Well this could go one of 2 ways. Firstly, I think the guy is still devastated over the break-up and bởi telling the girl he still likes her, she has been put into an emotional state where she feels she has done something wrong, so maybe she feels guilty and thus she can't stop thinking about him.

Secondly, if this was really over studies, I feel she should talk to the guy and find some way to reach a compromise and make it work. tình yêu is all about sacrifice and the guy has to make a sacrifice of maybe not seeing her as much, but at the same time she can compromise maybe with a quick meet-up every now and then and maybe even a phone-call each day. It wouldn't take much to maintain that connection as long as both parties put in the effort.
