On the hiển thị Supernatural, how did Sam and Dean find their jobs through out the seasons?

I know they browsed through news and among other things. But specifically how did they know where to look? Because in the hiển thị they found strange things going on in places and even other states outside the one they are in before leaving for the job. But one state hoặc city won't supply news of another so how do they know how to look for it and find the strange happenings in America? They must be looking somewhere else, but where? So that would mean having a nguồn somewhere, somehow hoặc at least knowledge on how to find sources.
