Can't get myself to forgive lily potter for not forgiving snape, am i the only one?

yes, snape called her a mud blood but everybody knows that he didn't mean it..plus they were having an argument, lily đã đưa ý kiến things too him too..lily and snape were freinds since they were kids, just like ron. harry and hermione..so i don't understand how she couldn't understand that snape didn't mean it and how she couldn't forgive him when he truly asked for forgiveness..snape was always there for her..is it that their long friendship meant nothing to her, while that unmeant thing meant everything? if snape really meant something for her, she couldn't have walked away so easily and never talk to him again...snape sacrificed his life for her but she couldn't even sacrifice her pride hoặc ego hoặc anything that cost her to forgive him...

anyone here agrees with me?

I don't agree with you. Mudblood isn't meant to be just a word, it's meant to be the magical equivalent of calling someone a n*****. And what do bạn mean, he didn't mean it? He used it, didn't he? Also, that one use of the word wasn't all Lily was upset about. It was his growing interest in the Dark Arts, the wannabe Death Eaters he was Những người bạn with.

I agree with your point. bạn actually read those pieces carefully and understood the real reasons... the mudblood calling was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.

Not choices?

situations make people make wrong choices. i never thought snape was perfect. nobody is perfect.

I completely disagree. Not only had Lily been worrying about Snape getting thêm into the Dark Arts and running with the wrong crowd, he called her one of the most offensive words in the Wizarding world. I'm half black, and if my best friend called me the N-word (which she would never do, but just supposing), I'm not sure I could ever forgive her.
So while I felt bad for Snape, I don't blame Lily in the slightest for not forgiving him.

yes I agree. I think Lily is sensitive yet only her friend đã đưa ý kiến her mudblood. she should have forgiven him. but there is james in between who makes fun of snape. so Lily chose to give thêm importance to tình yêu than her friendship. plz don't compare their friendship with Harry,Hermione,Ron. theirs is true friendship

* × yeah, their frindship was true, unlike lily's friendship with snape. Snape loved her with all his heart...maybe she didn't care for him enough...even though she couldn't choose snape over james, he could have at least forgiven him

Lily didnt even like James when she ended her friendship with Snape.

True. She ended her friendship with Severus at the end of their fifth year. She didn't begin dating James til their seventh year.

yes, she didn't like James in the beginning... i just replied in context of anviange's bình luận

Well, I don't think it was really as simple as that. It wasn't just the fact that he called her a mudblood - if bạn read that part carefully (the history between her and Snape, as well as the history of James, Sirius, Lupin and Wormyface), you'd have noticed that she was getting sick of the fact that he was becoming thêm and thêm into the Dark Arts, plus he treated people like dirt, just like the four mentioned above did to him... Lily was afraid that he'd become a Death Eater like the others, which ended up happening in the end.

When he starts at Hogwarts, he is sorted into Slytherin and immediately befriended bởi those who become Voldemorts inner circle. Snape became a Death Eater at the beginning because of what James and the others do to him and because he was lonely and full of hatred. he never was treated well bởi his father and many others. when someone has had a bad childhood and his further life is going in the same direction, we can't expect him to do all the right things. it's likely that he might turn into somebody he isn't. but snape did change his ways...the 2nd time he became a death eater was to protect harry, which is basically for lily. he did sth she hated, but if he hadn't done that, harry probably wouldn't have survived

The Sorting Hat reads a person, it sorts a person according to their personality. Snape was sorted into Slytherin because he was a Slytherin, so bạn can't really use that. Not every member of Slytherin became a Death Eater. And bạn compared him to Draco - Draco also joined the Death Eaters, but he hesitated when he was told to kill, even when that made him terrified for his own safety and his family's.

yes, it does. snape was a true slytherin, i never đã đưa ý kiến he became a death eater becuase he was a slytherin. bad company, bad influence. and many other unexplainable things made him wanna be a death eater

i can understand that draco never wanted to seriously hurt anyone hoặc be a death eater. afterall he's my fav character in HP.

I disagree wholeheartedly. Snape was in very deep with the Dark Arts. Lily was afraid that he would become a Death Eater, so she ended it.

When you're Những người bạn with the bully and the bullied, bạn side with the bullied. And Snape's Những người bạn cursed Lily's friends. Mudblood was the straw that broke the camel's back.

She also đã đưa ý kiến that he called everyone else who was Muggle-born a Mudblood. Mudblood is the magical version of the n-word - it's a racial slur. Lily đã đưa ý kiến childish teasing names ('Snivellus') in retort to a SLUR.

I just mentioned above, snape didn't mean it. people say things they don't mean when they are angry and having a fight. bạn probably have đã đưa ý kiến things to your Những người bạn hoặc parents while in an argument but haven't meant a word. can't bạn remmeber any such time? snape hated the word mud blood since then. he never used it again. he was the one who befriended lili when her sister called her a frak. do bạn honestly believe that he actually meant when he called her a mud blood. for god's sake he loved her so much that he sacrificed his life. i don't blame lily for that, but i just can't understand why she would not forgive him. keeping all things aside, if u tình yêu someone, bạn follow two simple things: forgive and forget

lily should have undertood why snape was into dark arts. if harry was becoming bad due to connection with voldemort, do bạn think hermione and ron would have just argued with have and ended their friendship with him? no, they would have done whatever it takes to make him his older self again

I completely and utterly disagree. Snape made his choice and Lily made her's. Friendship requires work from both ends of the relationship and from how I read it, it was Lily that put most of the chảo in and made most of the sacrifices in the end. I would have được trao up on him long before she did.

that's your way of thinking it, and it's true from one point of view..but what if felt was snape was full of hatred and anger and desire to prove himself, so he was getting into dark arts...so if i were lily, i would never have left coz i don't like a friend only they're goodd..i like them even at their worst..maybe i feel bad coz i wouldn't have done that..it was her life and her decisions so it wasn't her fault. but when i think it from heart, i feel that their frienhip was stronger than this..snape made sacrifices too, even after their freindship ended..
