For me Gintoki Sakata had a rough childhood.

He was orphaned in the times of the joui war, he wanders around battlefields salvaging what he can from corpses, bởi that he got the nickname Corpse-eating demon.

One of the saddest is probably Inuyasha.
His mother was human and his father was a demon.

Definitely Takano Miyo from Higurashi No Naku Kor Ni.

Well thats hard, becuase in every anime theres atleast ONE person with a depsressing past
a few i know are Kazuma Kannagi/Yagami and Kyo Sohma
Kyo (Fruits basket).. his childhood was kind of sad considering he was left out from the rest because he was the cat, then being right tiếp theo Tohrus mom (his like.. only friend) when she was hit ;n;
But I also think Kazumas (Kaze no Stigma)childhood/past was pretty sad too because

Thats when Natsume started to hate everything, and he well the rest you'll have to figure out I don't want to spoil anything!

Definitely Mawata Awayuki from Pretear.
