Chapter One-

"Typical of the Justice League." Sam replied over the phone. cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly heard something fizzing in the background.

"What are bạn doing?" she asked.

"Nothing, why do bạn ask?" Sam answered.

"Something is fizzing in the background."

"Soda."

"Uh-huh." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly đã đưa ý kiến and rolled over on her back on her bed. "So what do bạn think the mission'll be?"

"Dunno." Sam said.

"God I hope I don't get booted off the Team."

"Don't worry about it. You'll do great. All they want is to make sure bạn can fight and aren't going to betray us." Sam said. "Which bạn won't."

"Right?" 

"I've thought about leaving." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly said. "Becoming a freelancer, going back to my old life."

"Don't tell them that." Sam said.

"I have a past with Người dơi and-"

At that moment, Holly's communicator dinged. She looked at it. Someone was robbing a bank downtown.

"Did you-"

"I got it." Sam said. "Suiting up."

Sam hung up and ran out of the cafe he had been sitting at. He tapped a button on his belt.

Clothes in his closet slid aside and a door opened up revealing his costume as he drove at hàng đầu, đầu trang speed to get home.

Courage ran up to the bank as Revenge swung down.

"Let's get this over with." he said.

The two charged into the bank. The robbers were caught off guard and easily taken out.

"I can't believe I gave up my Sô cô la milkshake for this." Revenge said. "Sarah-"

Before the Black Hero could reach the Duo's electronic assistant, the doors and safety walls shut.

"Just great," Revenge said, switching to infrared.

"Sam, bạn there?" Sarah's voice echoed out of the comm device.

"I'm here." Revenge replied. "And what did I tell bạn about-"

"Okay, okay." Sarah said. "I'm hacking NYPD Systems."

Revenge waited a moment. cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly fished out her infrared sunglasses and put them on.

Sarah let out a low whistle. "You ticked someone off." Sarah said. "Officer Thomas issued a warrant for your arrest."

"Ah," Revenge said, bending down and inspecting the lock on a door. "That would be because I caught him beating up some punk. I stopped him and left a note for the Chief."

"Well, bạn and Courage had better get out, the cops have a battering ram ready." Sarah said.

Sam set something on the door. It blinked a few times before the door swung open. Revenge and Courage walked out into the alleyway. Revenge pulled his mask off and sat against the wall. Courage followed suit.

"You two okay?" Sarah asked after a moment.

"Fine," Courage replied into her earring.

Sam slipped his mask back on. "I want a word with the Chief."

Chief Draxx looked up from the paperwork on his bàn as the two Giải cứu thế giới walked in.

"What can I do for bạn two today?" he asked.

"What happened to the old one?" Draxx asked as soon as Courage was gone.

Revenge sighed and eased himself into a chair. "She left and I went solo, remember?"

"She ever coming back?" Draxx asked.

"What's it matter to you?" Revenge asked.

"Just curious." Draxx said, hiding behind a stack of paperwork.

"So what are bạn going to do about this warrant for my arrest?" Revenge asked.

Draxx typed on his computer, then turned to Revenge. "No warrant. Haul in Thomas and we'll have him thrown in jail for---something."

"Thanks, Chief." Revenge said, walking out.

cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly was reclining in a chair when Revenge walked in. The door shut behind him and he walked over to the computer, typing something in. He finished after a few phút and took his mask off. He lay down on the couch, totally exhausted.

"I never knew facing down a squad of cops and one big fat one was so hard." Sam said. 

"I'm assuming bạn threw Thomas in jail for---something?"

"Yeah," Sam said.

"Artemis called, đã đưa ý kiến something about a big New Year's Party at the Cave." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly said.

"I'm not-"

"-going." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly said. "I figured. I told her we weren't coming."

"We?" Sam asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly replied, sitting on the đi văng and laying her head on Sam's shoulder. "Besides, bạn are taking me to the ball drop, right?"

"You know the conditions. No leisure until all criminals are in jail." Sarah đã đưa ý kiến from the doorway. cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly sat up straight at the hispanic's arrival. 

"Don't bother." Sarah said, walking past the two. "I knew bạn were together before bạn did."

"That obvious?" cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly asked.

"She's good." Sam replied, trying to come up with an excuse. 

"Yeah, it was." Sarah said.

Sarah was about fifteen with a fit figure and silky black hair that fell halfway between her shoulder and elbow. She was wearing a tank hàng đầu, đầu trang and a pair of black jeans. The logo on her áo sơ mi đã đưa ý kiến 'Don't mess with the girl'.

Sarah sat down at the computer when a holo screen popped up.

"Damn, I keep forgetting bạn installed those." Sarah said, clutching her chest from the startle she had gotten at the loud alert noise.

"Hide." Revenge said, slipping his mask on and standing up.

Batman's face appeared on the screen. "Courage, it is time." he said.

"I'm on my way." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly said. The transmission blinked off.

Sarah emerged from the shadows. "Why do I have to hide?" she asked.

"Batman-nor the Team nor the League-can know bạn are here hoặc we'll get in a lot of trouble." Sam said.

Sarah groaned before walking into the elevator to head to the computer lab.

cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly picked up her mask. "We still haven't had our first date." she said, poking Revenge in the chest with the leather.

"I know, and I'm sorry-"

"Cut it." cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly said. "Once I get back from this mission, you're taking me to a movie."

She could feel Revenge's grin under his mask. "Of course." he said.

cây ô rô, hoa huệ, holly grinned and walked toward the garage. She climbed on her green motorbike and sped off.
