 Eris
Eris
Have bạn ever heard of a bad apple? Well, the Olympians have one of those and she's even worse than her brother, Ares, believe me. This woman caused the Trojan war, she was the mother of all the evil little things that popped out of Pandora's box, and she helped a group of women murder their husbands! I'm talking, of course, about Eris (known in Roman myth as Discordia.) This woman is pure evil! She's like your bratty little sister, except a trillion times worse! It can safely be assumed that she could be the Mistress everyone is talking about.
I'll make this easy (on myself.) Lists. That's the way to go, so here goes nothing.

Reasons supporting Eris as the Mistress
:: She is the Goddess of strife!!!! She may as well be a big, bubbling couldron of evilness!

:: She accompanied Typhon in his first battle against the Olympians

:: She has a connection (albeit a small one) to the Anemoi Thuellai. She was usually in the company of the Harpies which are the female counterparts of the Anemoi Thuellai.

:: She was the mother of both Lethe and Horkos. Lethe is not only the river in the Underworld, but also the personification of Forgetfulness. Horkos is the personification of oaths. These facts seem to have a connection to our story, don't ya' think? Jason has Mất tích his memory, and a line in the Prophecy is about an oath....hmmm....makes sense to me.

:: She appeared in the Argonautica (from which the myth about our Jason's namesake came). Did I mention that she was in it twice?

:: Seeing as she is the goddess of strife and dischord, it could be assumed that she would sympathize with the wild Anemoi Thuellai, and it would be just like her to let them out to wreak havoc on the world.

:: She was a bigger người hâm mộ of the Titans than she was the Olympians.

:: According to myth, she lives tiếp theo to one of the entrances to the Underworld. Remember the last line of the Prophecy?

:: She hangs out with Deimos and Phobos, a lot, and in the short story, Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot (from the Demigod Files), Phobos warns Percy at the end of their battle that they'll see each other again.

:: Did I mention she's EVIL!

Now, if this theory is true, I think I can make a few predictions about The Mất tích Hero.

My Predictions
:: Since Eris is known to be a friend of the Harpies, there may be another battle at camp, because of the Harpies working there.

:: Mnemosyne will be in the series because she is the Titaness of memory, and Jason seems to have Mất tích his.

:: If Mnemosyne does make an appearance, she will side with the good guys because she always appeared as a benevolent Immortal in myth.

:: Poseidon will be extrememly mad, I just know it. First off, his son is missing, and secondly the Anemoi Thuellai seem to behind it. I don't know if bạn know it, but there is bad blood between the mighty Sea God and the restless hooligans that Aeolus is supposed to keep locked up. So here's that story: One ngày the Anemoi Thuellai were causing a horrible storm out at sea to kill off a bunch of Trojans. Hera asked them to....but anyway, they were making such a rucous that they were disturbing the sea all the way down to the bottom. Poseidon popped up near the ships and saw what was going on. He told the Anemoi Thuellai that if he ever caught them doing it again that they were going to suffer his wrath. Talk about a man who likes his peace and quiet!

There are thêm assumptions I could add to this list, but I'll save them for a different article.

***Did bạn Know?***
Eris gave Ares' daughter a spear to use in battle during the Trojan war.

This bài viết is the first in a weekly series I will be making (H of O). I want to hear what you'd like to see in the tiếp theo one. Head over to the forum, and post your idea in the " What Do Ya' Think?" thread. If bạn haven't read the sample chapters, head over to the link, the mật khẩu is "newhero". Look out for the official cover for the Giải cứu thế giới of Olympus: The Mất tích Hero. It'll be up on June 21. The book we are all waiting for will arrive on our doorsteps on October 12, in the U.S. (Gosh I'm just a walking billboard for the series, aren't I? They should pay me for this!)
