Because of all the love that Dean has for John it just made it so much more powerful.

I love both of them but idk- the Bobby hug really touched me, maybe just a smidgen more than the John hug. I think I love John for being a fascinating, badass complicated character but I hate the way he treated Dean. And I love Bobby for the way he's there for Dean, how his love seems so unconditional, and how he doesn't put Dean down.

I always felt a sort of father/son love thing between them. as much as i loved john, bobby always seemed like more a father to dean than john ever was. like fanfly said he loves dean unconditionally and he never puts dean down. In fact bobby as done the opposite many times. So this hug just really spoke volumes about how much they do mean to each other :)
