~Jade's POV~
I knew I had to tell him. I had to tell him everything. He looked so confused.
"I-It all started at a party." I sat against the back of the chair and let my eyes roll back in my head. "My boyfriend was taking me back home, to this place. We were seniors in highschool at the time and had our whole life planned out. Everything. When we arrived back here...my-my parents..." I looked down at my toes. "My parents were gone...they left me here, when my life was at it's best. When I had the most opportunity in my life the just...abandoned me here..." I could feel tears well up in my eyes. "I had to try to get a job, just to get by...to eat."
"Why don't bạn just leave here?" Michael was sitting at the edge of the giường now. He still looked hazey but he had all his willing attention on me.
This was the hard part. "I-I have to stay here...because...there are things here."
"Like what?" he asked
"The--" I took a deep breath. "Spirits."
I could see a huge ?mark over hàng đầu, đầu trang of his head.
"Spirits...as in, Ghosts?"
"Yes! And they are the ones who hurt you! They are too powerful. When my parents left, they left me here to take the burden of them. I always knew there was something about this house, but since they left, I have to take care of the spirits. They---They just abandoned me. When I was at the most opportune point in my life. They. left. me." The tears began to fall.
Disbelief lingered in his face. Understandably. But I could tell he tried to grasp the fact since it traumatized me.
I tried to cover my face with my hair to hide the tears, but he could hear my sobs.
"Hey, Hey...It's okay." He placed his had over mine and I flinched slightly. "It's okay." He đã đưa ý kiến protectivly. "Why can't bạn leave here,...I still don't understand."
"Well," I began, still crying a little, "If I don't keep people from entering...They-They could know about the spirits...And, catch the insanity. I think that's why my parents left, because it drove them insane. And, It may eventually make me...--insane" I started to cry again. "I-I have to keep people from entering here...Or else, like a disease, they could become insane. The spirits want to drive me to that state...to make me one of them. Dead" I paused. "...I shouldn't have told you..." I đã đưa ý kiến between sobs.
"It's okay, sweetie" He whispered. I realized his hand was still on mine.
"I guess I havn't introduced myself at all. I apologize, I'm Michael." He smiled at me.
I giggled. "I know who bạn are..." I looked into his dark brown eyes. "I'm Jade...22 years old."
"Really?" He looked suprised "I'm 23."
I smiled. "Wow!" A câu hỏi arose in my mind "How did bạn get here?"
"Well, I needed a quiet place, bạn know, away from the stardom, to work on my album. A lifelong friend of mine suggested this quiet town. I think that someone really messed up"
"Who dropped bạn off here?" I questioned.
"I don't know, It was a person I didn't even know. I thought since my friend suggested it that he knew...but, as i've said, someone must have messed up. He was an older man, with electric blue eyes."
My tim, trái tim stopped for a second. Ohmigod, it all made sense now. I could not believe it. I gasped. I thought he was dead.
"Michael, you-you have to leave!" I almost yelled.
"Wha-.."
I interrupted him "That man..." I looked at the ceiling. "...It all makes sense!"
"What does."
"That man, was-wa-was my father." I said, horrified.
