I've always loved how the car is essentially the only home that Sam and Dean have ever known. She's the only constant in their lives and everything they own fits inside of her. And I view Dean's love for her as an extension of his role as caretaker of the family. She's the family home, so he takes care of her accordingly.

Everything, but the fact that she is their home and she ties them together, and is something tangible that they've always been able to rely on, there is just something heartbreakingly beautiful about that to me.
