Usually, for me, when authors write emotional scenes I'm like "Euurgh -CRINGE-" But with Rowling...I'm not.

im not a very emtional person, but hp has made me feel true emotion, from uncontrollable bliss, to great dispair, in New Moon, I felt depressed during the whole, book, that's all I felt, depression, if it wasnt for New Moon, I wouldn't have felt emotion at all throughout the whole series.

You just CAN'T empathise with such an annoying loser of a character like Bella.

Hard question...
Actually I think Meyer writes the emotional scenes the best, but then again, I cried a lot in HP and I haven't cried in Twilight, not once...But maybe that's just because I can't stand the three main characters (namely Bella, Edward and Jacob). Ironic, isn't it?

When Hagrid cried because of Harry. Every emotional scene made me cry !! Every happy scene in the book made me happy ! Every romance scene made my heart melt of love !! JKR is the best writer ever !! She's GODDESS of imagination !!! :D

when i read DH i was on vacation with my family and every time someone died that i liked (i.e. Hedwig, Mad-Eye, Dobby, Snape, Lupin, Tonks, FRED) died, i'd whisper "no..." and i'd have tears running down my face. my mom'd ask what was wrong and i'd be like "Snape died" or "Dobby died" or "Fred died". every single time she'd ask what the hell i was talking about and i have to explain who every character was and why it made me cry when they died. didn't cry once during twilight.

I just laughed at Bella during New Moon because she was just being a wuss. I cried when Sirius died, Dobby, Dumbledore, even Fred, Tonks, and Lupin who's deaths weren't even described. I cried the most when I read the Prince's Tales. :(

I didn't cry at all in any 'emotional' Twilight scenes. I cried so much in Deathly Hallows, and that's just one of the HP books.

I like Twilight, but I just looove Harry Potter. I'm someone who cries almost never. Stephenie Meyer couldn't make me cry, but JK Rowling could. The way she writes is just amazing!

Not only did I cry throughout HP, but I actually felt my heart break several times.
Not so much in the first two, but
Book 3: When Harry lost his chance of leaving the Dursleys' forever and having someone who cared for him.
Book 4: The Pensieve, when Crouch sent his son to Azkaban. Cedric's death. Priori Incantatem. Harry in the hospital wing with Mrs Weasley.
Book 5: The snake attack on Mr Weasley. Neville's parents. Sirius's death. Dumbledore's office. Trying to find ways to get Sirius back (the talk with Nearly Headless Nick and Luna)
Book 6: Sectumsempra. Harry's feelings for Ginny. Hermione in the empty classroom after she saw Ron and Lavender kissing. Dumbledore drinking the potion. Dumbledore's death. The funeral.
Book 7: Hedwig's death. Mad-Eye's death. Ron leaving Harry and Hermione. Harry at his parents' graves. Luna's bedroom decorated with her friends' pictures. Ron's reaction to Hermione being tortured by Bellatrix. Dobby's death. Dumbledore's past. Percy rejoining the family. Fred's death. Colin's death. Tonks' death. Lupin's death. The Prince's Tale. The Resurrection Stone. Harry going to die. The end of the battle. "All was well."
There are heaps more, but this list probably gives you an idea of the emotion in Harry Potter :)

J.k Rowling made me cry countless times during her books, mostly when Sirius, Dobby, Mad-Eye, Fred, Remus and Tonks, Snape and Dumbledore died, when Harry was going to give himself up, Malfoy Manor, James and Lily's grave etc.

Stephanie Meyer has only made me laugh at her pathetic excuses for books.

When she describes a feeling you know exactly which one she's talking about, Apparently all Bella feels is chagrin and having a hole punched through her chest.
