Merida really needed an eye-opener. If she let her sensitivity get in the way of everything else again, she could've potentially kissed her friendships with Pocahontas and Mulan goodbye. She made sure to skip a few events that mentioned anything happening between her and Eric such as how warm and soft his hand felt when they shook hands.
