Most people would agree that each of the Disney Princesses are individually unique. While most people take their stories and personalities into consideration, few tend to recognize that they each have an individual artistic style. Even though over the years their lineup has homogenized to create what we might consider Classic Disney, the thiết kế of nearly each princess was in fact inspired with a specific artist hoặc art style in mind. I believe this is the je-ne-sais-quoi people have a hard time attributing to the magic of Disney. No other, if but a few, phim hoạt hình studios are so maticulous in drawing their influences from establish classical art forms when making an animated feature. So without further ado, here in chronological order are the Disney Princesses and the artists and art styles from which they were inspired.

________________________________________________________________________________

Princess: Snow White

Art Style: Arthur Rackham / Classic Fairy Tale Illustration

Being the first heroin of ANY full-length animated feature, Snow White could be considered the staunch establishment of 2d phim hoạt hình as an artform itself. However that would be ignoring the fact that Walt Disney wanted to give a look to his fairy tale that people were already familiar with.
 Arthur Rackham
Arthur Rackham

Obviously Walt Disney chose this fairy tale because so many people were already familiar with it. The film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs begins and ends with the opening and closing of a book alluding to the idea that the whole of the film serves as the illustrations to the story. Therefor Disney wanted to emulate the illustations from the sách in which people had first heard the story. One of the most famous illustrators of classical children's sách was link who had supplied hình ảnh to tales of the Grimm Brothers, Hans Christian Anderson, Lewis Carol and even Shakespeare. For many, this style is still quite familiar.

 Gustaf Tenggren

To emulate this style Walt Disney hired a number of artists like link, link and link to do much of the conceptual thiết kế work. Watercolors were the medium of choice for the background to acheive the look of old illustrations. In this picture bởi Tenggren we can see the original look intended for Princess Snow White.

While early methods of cell painting effectively restricted Disney artists from giving Snow White the look originally desired, her watercolor-painted sourroundings are still highly reminiscent of the works of Arthur Rackam. Unfortunately, even with further developments in phim hoạt hình techniques, another thirteen years would pass before Disney would create Cinderlla. It would be another 9 years with Sleeping Beauty when Disney would meet his own satisfying standards in creating the 'moving illustration'.

Princess: Cinderella

Art Style: C.E. Brock / Romanticism / Mary Blair

Probably the most widely known and oldest fairy tale with literally dozens of versions from across the world, Disney and his team essentially created what is now the accepted American version of Cinderella. As he did with Snow White, Disney wanted to refer to an art style people would recognize from books.

 C.E. Brock
C.E. Brock

With all the princess fairy tales being romantic it as only expected that animators would turn to sách from the Romantic Era. Primarily occurring during the 1800's, link was a time of artistic and intellectual freedom from the strict creative guidelines of the trước đó link. Jane Austen, who wrote Pride and Prejudice is just one of many famous authors from this time period. But it were the illustrations from sách such as hers bởi link which was the focus of Disney animators. Here one can see C.E. Brock's line work, borders and water coloring similar to the illustrations in the opening book of Cinderella. Like Arthur Rackham, Brock's illustrations were widespread in sách being published during this time including those bởi Charles Dickons.

Granted, C.E. Brock's style does not continue throughout the rest of the film's background. However, the style of the Romantic era is still present within the movie via architecture, furniture and fashion. The story appears to take place in a fictional world transitioning somewhere between the link and the link (aka 1850s).

 Mary Blair

For the conceptual art Disney hired link. Walt was particularly fond of Blair's sense of color styling. Unlike the artists of Snow White who had taken are thêm unembellished approach to the style intended, Mary Blair referred to the art of the Romantic era and put her own modern twist on it. This is noticeable during Cinderella's dancing scene with Prince Charming but nowhere is her style thêm blatant than the opening credits. (notice her use of ornate curly S shapes)

Princess: Aurora

Art Style: Eyvind Earle / International Gothic

Yet the third and final Disney Princess fairy tale opening and ending with a book, Sleeping Beauty would be the last attempt Disney made at creating the 'moving illustration'.

 Limbourg Brothers

When people hear "gothic" they usually envision angsty teenagers decked out in black clothes and makeup, with faces littered with piercings. Not the case here.
link in fact refers to a specific art movement that occurred between the 12th and 16th centuries in what is now France, Germany and Italy. A prime example of such art is this illustration, hoặc illumination, bởi the link in the early 1400s where we can see not only the fashions but also the architecture of the period. This is just one of many illuminations from the link, considered to be one of the most valuable sách in the world.

 Eyvind Earl

Rather than take a literal approach to the period's design, Walt Disney hired artist link to give Sleeping Beauty a modern edge. His particular style explored the lack of proper perspectives and displayed certain hints of Art Deco, a modern arts movement from several decades prior.

The end result is what I personally regard as Disney Company's greatest masterpiece in terms of animation. What they created was a brilliant juxtaposition of old meets new with such artistic care I believe has yet to be even closely rivaled in the realm of 2d animation. Sadly, Sleeping Beauty was the last hand painted film Disney ever create and details like the golden outlines of Aurora's hair wouldn't be seen again for another 30 years in Beauty and the Beast.

This is a movie I've been looking phía trước, chuyển tiếp to rewatching for a while :) I tình yêu the Disney Princess phim chiếu rạp (except maybe Brave, still need to watch that again) but The Little Mermaid brings back so much nostalgia for me. This movie isn't number 1 on my yêu thích DP movie danh sách but it's still one of my all-time yêu thích movies.

Today's rewatch: The Little Mermaid
Last time watched: 2017

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I hope you're all comfortable because this is going to be a long one. When I was little Những nàng tiên cá were my yêu thích thing and it was all because of The Little Mermaid. For the...

Sunday's rewatch: Beauty and the Beast
Last time watched: Valentine's ngày 2017

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
So, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, this movie scared me when I was little because of how scary some of the phim hoạt hình was. When this movie was released on dvd for the first time in 2002 hoặc 2003, I didn't want to watch it because I thought I was still going to be scared of it. But then my stepmom...

 Hello Maleficent.
Hello Maleficent.
Hi guys, an idea had struck me on nghề viết văn this article. It is a comparison between Wicked and Maleficent, are bạn ready?

The Story

Although the film is like Wicked, but Maleficent is a darker and Gô tích version of Wicked. Mainly because of how the film is portrayed.
Whereas Wicked is thêm lighter despite that it has some darker approach at some point of the film, so I would not label it as Gothic.

The Characters

Princess Aurora is very much like Glinda, because the 2 protagonists are optimistic and blonde-haired! They tried to persuade the 'Villain' (both Elphaba and Maleficent) to be good.

Wedding of the Century!
Hi guys, since I am watching a documentary about Princess Diana. I will be nghề viết văn a few wedding march âm nhạc when the Princesses march to their tình yêu ones down the aisle, ready?

1. Wedding Voluntary/ Prince of Denmark's March (Jeremiah Clarke)

Okay, we heard this piece of âm nhạc when Diana walked down the aisle at St. Paul's Cathedral in 1981. I prefer this interpretation because it sounds majestic.

2. Wedding Tune (Henry Purcell)

This is also another majestic music, it woud be when all the princesses march together if their wedding are together!

3. And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time (William Blake)...

xin chào look! It's Lady Rose MacClare! No, it's Cinderella! Actually, it's Natasha!!!
Hey look! It's Lady Rose MacClare! No, it's Cinderella! Actually, it's Natasha!!!
Hi everyone, I have been a người hâm mộ of Russian history too and upon discovering Leo Tolstoy's classic, War and Peace. Here are my personal opinion on whether hoặc not Disney should do it and to make Countess Natasha Rostova hoặc her other Princess Những người bạn to become the first Russian Princesses as official DP.

Yes, A Russian Princess!

We definitely need a Russian princess in the line-up, in this story, there are thêm than 1 princess! So, since Natasha is the main character, she might be added alongside Princess Maria and Princess Elena despite that Natasha is only a countess.

The Story Is Very Long-Winded

Okay, So the story is chẻ, phân chia, split in 4 parts of the book. It will be to long winded, unless Disney is bold enough to shorten certain parts of the story as long as it does not omit out certain important and prominent part of the story.

Time for Imperial Russia?

So, are bạn ready for Disney's very own Russian princess?

The Mouse's Sorting Hat was one of my yêu thích blogs on tumblr that I used to read in the golden era of late 2013 to early 2015. It was then a prolific blog that sorted many characters in the respective Hogwarts houses of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Whenever I requested a character, the sorting would immediately come. Things went smooth, slow, steady, and ready, until my senior year, that was the dark days of late 2015 to early 2016. bởi that time, the blog had redesigned, but they weren't making any posts those days. I tried to message them, but they couldn't receive my messages. I sighed. I still tried to request, but the posts couldn't come. I sighed again, so I tried to reblog their posts on my blog. Unfortunately, the founder deleted the blog one day, and I felt saddened. Here are their sortings of the princesses:

 The Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal
Okay, after Nhật Bản and Korea, here are my finalist for an Indian princess. Especially for her appearance, are bạn ready?

1) Aishwarya Rai (Miss World 1994)

She won the Miss Photogenic Award and the Miss World tiêu đề back in 1994, she is a very pretty bollywood actress in her own rights after winning the tiêu đề and I have to say that she ages gracefully!

2) Priyanka Chopra (Miss World 2000)

She is another possible choice for an Indian princess, I would not be surprise if they choice her to voice her and base her looks on a princess too!

3) Sunidhi Chauhan (Elsa's Hindi Voice)

She was the voice of Elsa in the Hindi dub for Frozen, she also has a very pretty look and will definitely be good for an Indian princess.

Be Bollywood!

So these 3 choices are my personal favourites, do bạn have any suggestions?

1.    The DP bài viết post that claimed to be me (now deleted) is obviously not me as those are not my các lượt xem at all, it is a stereotype of something they are accusing me of that is not true. I don't talk like that at all either and I am shocked anyone could have believed that it was me.

2.    Anyone who actually cares enough to read the whole story can refer to my real “About Me” các bài viết where I clearly talk about my mixed racial background and how my abusive childhood has shaped my views. I talked about how I associated “Stepford” with embracing...

Hi guys, since Moana will be coming to Malaysia on Boxing ngày this year. Here are my thoughts and expectations on why I'm so looking phía trước, chuyển tiếp towards the movie!

The Story-Line

I hope that the story will not be like Nữ hoàng băng giá and I would expect something very original, and from what I heard is that Moana is not going to get a tình yêu interest like Merida and Elsa before her.

The Characters

Speaking of the characters, I hope that Moana is not going to be like a carbon copy of Merida from Brave. If she was, I would be surprise and all that! But I just hope that she's not going to be like a spoiled brat...
