Let's face it: we live in a man's world. If bạn don't think that's true, slap yourself and take a look at the real world. Under Iranian Islamic law, if a woman isn't a virgin when she's married, she gets 100 lashes. Harsh. Men are even paid thêm than women on average, and that's in the United States.

Now, I am a feminist. Before anyone throws something at me, I want to say that people are misconstruing feminism, and it's making me sick. Feminism isn't about burning bras hoặc hating men, it's about equality. It's about a world where no gender is oppressed. And Disney can have a big part in that.

How? Think about it. What do most little girls want to be when they grow up? A princess. And where do they learn that? Disney. Now, of course that little girl will have her dreams crushed, but the time she spent waiting for Prince Charming could have been used doing something useful. Take it from Tiana, "Fairytales can come true, bạn gotta make 'em happen, it all depends on you." What world will we be in if half the population, scratch that, ALL of the population, các lượt xem women as dames to be rescued?

Well, gone are the damsel in distress classic princesses. Here is a new age, where the Disney god has granted us a warrior princess, a working princess, and the idea that true tình yêu can actually be found between sisters, not những người đang yêu (gasp! Who'd have thunk?)

Disney still has a long way to go, though. Girls may realize that they create their own path, but they also need to realize that there is no one beauty standard.

Girls don't need waists smaller then their heads to be beautiful, hoặc eyes that take up half their face, hoặc long, flowing hair. And nearly every princess has these attributes.

How about a chunky princess, with womanly curves that don't come from not having a ribcage? How about a princess with a pixie cut? And especially (though this will be in the far, far, future) a gay princess?

As bạn can see, Disney is slowly regaining my respect. But they still have a long way to go.

Raya and the Dragon is a Disney animated film that was released in 2021. Like with a lot of Disney animated films, it's been getting great reviews. Does it deserve that? Does it live up to the hype? That's what this review is about.

Plot:

Raya and the Last Dragon's plot is about people of different nations, who used to get along with each power, becoming rivals who fight over pieces of power. Raya's father dreamed of bringing peace to the nations, but it's Raya herself who will have to make that happen. It's up to her to find the last dragon, Sisu, and get her to bring peace to the world. Raya...

Hi guys, I just want to let bạn know that I got to see Mulan a few days cách đây and like Beauty and the Beast. I have mixed feeling about this live action reboot, so here is my review on the movie that was postpone on numerous occasions due to the COVID-19.

The Story

I was really quite happy with a number of changes in the film, like we get to see Mulan's childhood thêm like what we see in Cinderella. I am very happy that she has a sister to talk to, to which I will get to that part later on!
Secondly, she does provide comic relief while in the army along with the soldiers. Whom the latter did not...

Just a heads up there's going to be a lot of sad personal stuff brought up so if bạn don't want to read this that's totally understandable.

Today's rewatch: Moana
Last time watched: July 6, 2017

How much did I like this movie when it came out?

I had some reservations about this movie because I didn't know for sure if it was going to be good especially since I hadn't seen too much stuff about it. But after hearing How Far I'll Go I knew I wanted to watch this movie even if it was just to hear that song on the big screen. My husband and I saw it for my birthday and even though the villain twist...

Of course, we all have our faves and we feel a certain way when our yêu thích princesses are getting criticized. For me, I do feel like Tiana gets quite a bit of flack, some deserved but some is quite overboard. For example, people call Tiana mean and even ruthless for simply doing what cá đuối, ray tells her bởi leaving him to fight off the shadows bởi himself but if she went against his orders, bạn know that would be yet another opportunity for people to call her condescending. So I'm just gonna counter some complaints against Tiana.

Human Tiana is thêm likable than frog Tiana.
Not really gonna disagree...

Favorite Belle
O 4
R 3

Both versions of Belle are fine, but there is something about both of them that people tình yêu that makes them prefer one over the other. The people who picked original Belle grew up with Paige O'Hara's voice who put her tim, trái tim and soul in her role as Belle, and then the people who picked remake Belle like that she's an inventor. One user đã đưa ý kiến they prefered original Belle because they didn't like Emma's diễn xuất and compared to Paige Emma was pretty wooden and even with any positive changes made to her Belle bad diễn xuất can ruin...

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I was 20 going on 21 when this movie was released in theaters so I wasn't exactly a kid, thêm like a kid at heart. I wasn't excited about this movie at the time and it didn't help when Disney released childrens sách that spoiled the plot, including the Hans spoilers,...

I'm on a villain appreciation kick right now and since the blatant drainage of all the charisma from his character in the remake is still fresh in my memory I figured I'd give Gaston some props. Some people would call him a lame villain but I actually think he's really cool and these are some reasons why.

He's Hans from Nữ hoàng băng giá done right. Subversion of Disney trends is the name of the game in modern DP films, but like I've been saying, Disney Princess phim chiếu rạp have been subverting and reinventing themselves before Disney Princess even became a brand. In the Little Mermaid, the princess rescues...

 No ones audition like Gaston!
No ones audition like Gaston!
Hi guys, since I had put this bài viết in the Beauty and the Beast page. So, here are my choices for those who have not read the bài viết yet and for your convenience! This bài viết is basically on what would really happen if Luke Evans hadn't gotten the part of muscular narcissist bully.

1. Tom Burke

Yes, Alan Rickman's godson who played Roland and Bentley Drummle in Dragon Heart: A New Beginning and the 2011 miniseries Great Expectations respectively. From these 2 roles, he could the arrogant Gaston!

2. Colin Farrell

This Irish bad boy really is the ideal Gaston, his voice is gruffy and I bet...

Hello ! I thought a danh sách of the DPs and what I like/dislike about them would be a good way to introduce myself to this club, so here it is ! Making this list, I was surprised at how difficult it was. I have a few princesses I dislike, but I really tình yêu most of them and it was hard to class them all. Some of them seem too low when I look at their rank, but then when I actually try to put them higher I realize I tình yêu the ones above just as much !

N°11: ARIEL

One of the only two princesses I actually dislike. She's a spoiled child who only thinks of herself, which would be fine if it was supposed...
