Syfy\'s original series revolution continues in 2016, as the series they launched last year,
all look to their second seasons in the spring and summer months.
, which debuted as a Dark Horse comic book before hitting its intended medium of the small screen, has hired on a surprising director for season two.
Jason Priestley will direct episode 207 of the Syfy show, creator and showrunner Joseph Mallozzi officially announced on his blog. While most people will first think of his time acting on
in the 90s, Priestley has been directing television almost as long as he\'s been acting (starting on that series). He\'s set to direct two episodes of Syfy\'s
"Over the past year, I\'ve been hearing more and more about his work behind the camera," Mallozzi wrote. "According to people in the know, Jason is a pretty damn fine director."
Luckily, it seems that\'s been the case in his personal experience with Priestley so far as well. Mallozzi said his first day of prep for the seventh episode of the second season, the director was "fairly quiet," just observing the rest of the people working on the show. From day 2, though, "he was ON," contributing on every major level, and helping them address possible problematic elements of the episode.
Of course, perhaps the most important part is that he contributed to the
whisky club. Check out the full blog entry for more details.

I gotta admit I watched the first ep on SYFY before I even knew it was a Dark Horse comic series till the Dark Horse logo came up at the very end, then I went wow. The freshness sorta wore off though, even checked the comic series it was based on and actually liked it better than the TV series lol. This is why I don\'t want to read the Image Comics Wanted because if I do I\'ll then dislike the movie it was loosely based on, which I kinda like, argh.
The show\'s creator/showrunner did the comic, too. He actually made the comic as basically a comicbook storyboard for the first couple episodes. I encourage you to check out the next few episodes (to me, it really picked up around 4 or 5, and went crazy from there). It\'s on Netflix now so easy binging!
