Ok guys, I've been thinking about it since 4x15 ended & now I'm pretty much sure the side effect of turniing Elena's feelings off is her unsireing.
At the end of "Stand bởi me" we saw Elena obeying Damon & switching it off. Two scenes lated he asked her not to burn the house ("Don't to it. We'll find another cover story") & she still did it. I think it's not another plot hole, but a very importnt hint...
Let's go back to the start. Hybrinds were sired to Klaus because even if they hated him, deep down they felt grateful for him for freeing them from the pain of werewolf transition. To break the bond they had to accept the pain of transition to get rid of this gratitude feeling.
In Elena's case, the cause of the sire bond were her romantic feelings toward Damon. They were magnified after she became vampire. She had the need of constantly pleasing Damon, of making what he wants becasue of her feelings for him, which became the sire bond.
Now Elena stopped feeling anthing. No pain, no love. She doesn't care. How could she be still sired, if the cause of the bond, all her feelings, are gone?
Plus what makes me thêm sure about it that all trước đó arguments is the fact, that Damon wanted to use the sire bond to bring her humanty back after some time. Bur it's TVD - it would be predictabe, it would be boring!
