Well I buy all the books I can when I can!

I love new books, but it's awesome when looking around an old used bookstore after looking through a bunch of books you're not interested in you stumble on one you really want. I usually get new books, but the stores that sell used ones are much closer to where I live, so I do take a look around them occasionally and if I see anything I want it being second hand wouldn't put me off :)

I love used books- not just the bargain but the idea that the book itself has a history. I like that for some reason. And I have a hard time justifying paying exorbitant prices for something that I can get for so much cheaper used. I'm not made of money! lol And I have the most awesome used bookstore nearby where you can bring in old books, dvds, and cds and get credit for them!

It depends on the book. For my major, a lot of the books on the subject are out of print so I need to buy them used. Usually they are in good shape. I also love to collect old books from the 1800s and early 1900s. Other than that, I buy the book new, unless there is a particular used book that interests me.

I usually buy them new though.

i like both old and new books.

mostly old books cause they have something special, like a mystery and a history on their own and i feel as if somehow connected to those people who read them before. but there's also something else, something more that i just can't put my finger on - maybe something in the nostalgic smell of old paper and ink or in the magic atmosphere of the yellowish-brownish pages...i don't know...i just feel slightly better when i read old books than new ones.

All the time! See, I am a HUGE fan of the Olsen twins (Mary-Kate & Ashley) & you cannot buy any of their books anymore at like Borders or any other chain bookstore. So I end up buying them used, because I can not get them new. But yeah, like ALL of my books are used/old. But the age of the book does not matter to me as much as the quality of the story.

for the books i like sometimes Used is the only option with out the price breaking the bank

I love when inside the books they have the persons name!! one time i got a used book and inside it said 1930!!!!

They may be a little banged up but the story within is the same. It helps me save money.
