CJ E&M Denies It Will Be Signing with B.A.P

It has been reported that CJ E&M is currently seeking to sign an exclusive contract with B.A.P, while the group is currently in the middle of its ongoing legal battle with agency TS Entertainment.

According to an industry representative, the members of B.A.P recently had a meeting with a high-rank official of CJ E&M’s music department, during which the two sides discussed the possibility of signing an exclusive contract. It is said that they addressed the terms of the contract, as well as the direction of their future activities.

In November of last year, B.A.P filed a lawsuit against TS Entertainment to terminate their exclusive contract with the agency, resulting in the group’s current hiatus. However, as the legal battle is still ongoing, B.A.P is still signed under TS Entertainment.

However, after this news hit the media, CJ E&M responded with its official statement: “While it is true that we recently met with B.A.P after they requested to have a meeting, we have clearly stated that we are not considering an exclusive contract with them.”

i don\'t think BAP suits YG at all. BAP is mostly on the smooth rnb/pop side of hip hop while 2ne1 and Big Bang are usually on the quirky alternative side of hip hop. yongguk and zelo might fit there but i don\'t think daehyun or youngjae\'s vocals would fit YG\'s style. BAP are more similar in style to BTS imo but bighit probs wont pick them up either.

Y\'all keep saying YG but remember how long BigBang was gone and how iKon still ain\'t debut, neither has the girl group and Winner in the air. Not to mention where is Lee Hi and why they doing 200 million shows?

Of course cj em doesn\'t want to sign with bap, and obviously not an "exclusive contract", i mean why would cj em specially sign a contract with them when they\'re still under a contract with TS? and even if the contract with TS is terminated, BAP\'s popularity in korea is still a problem, and they\'re not exactly so popular that they deserve an exclusive contract just for them. Anyway CJ E&M isn\'t a good company for BAP too, their current artistes are FTIsland, CNBlue, and T-ARA, and I doubt the company has any good hiphop composers for BAP. True that Yongguk can write songs, but not exactly good enough. He only knows a few chords here and there, suitable for writing raps but not good enough for a title track. Himchan would fit there, but whats bap without himchan.

no they had a right but think about it. Every artist that left their former company and signed to a new company or just a plain management company runs into this problem. It is just better for BAP to just wait and win (Like we all know they are going to win) and then I bet you they will get signed real quick.
