anime is just japanese cartoons, but i think there is a large difference.

anime is Japanese animation,while hoạt hình are Western animation. They're the same. Except anime is Japanese and hoạt hình are Western.

i think of them as different. both words could be used interchangeably if one wanted to though, as they really mean the same thing. in Japan, "anime" is simply the word for animation, which would apply to Japanese phim hoạt hình as well as western cartoons. outside of Japan, "cartoon" could be used for both of these as well. but i prefer to use the connotations of anime = Japanese phim hoạt hình and cartoon = western animation.

as for whether Japanese phim hoạt hình and western phim hoạt hình are the same, no! for one thing, it's easy for an adult to be a người hâm mộ of anime, and yet think they're too old for cartoons. i'd prefer that they be judged separately. but for those not in the know, what are bạn going to do?

that is soooo true, anime should never be mistaken for cartoon, I mean even if some hoạt hình look like animes I can still see the difference

hoạt hình are thêm childish and most of the times they are for laughter and enjoyment.
But anime covers large number of Genres like Fantasy, Sci-fi, Fighting, Romance, Slice of Life and much more! And it teaches us various things and its thêm realistic! ^^

anime ARE cartoons. Pretty much.
I mean "anime" is the Japanese for cartoon/animated hiển thị whatever, so that technically yes theyre the same.

Okay i need to explain it:

1. if u watch for ex: Inuyasha, Naruto,Clannad hoặc whatever tell me are they hoạt hình and anime so of course its the same!

2. why so frustrated? while cant tell the difference of anime and cartoons? No, nodon't be bcuz hoạt hình sometimes are actually anime and anime sometimes have hoạt hình to.

3. Ex: Black Butler | what happens if u like sebastian hoặc even Ciel-kun are they hoạt hình then they're also anime | anime - hoạt hình / hoạt hình - anime get it?.!

4. Tell me Ed ,Al ,Sebastian, Ciel, Nagisa ,Usui ,Yui,Ui ,Mio ,azusa, ritsu and so on they are hoạt hình right but PPL are saying they are anime but actually the anime are cartoons

5. Ok,Fine sometimes anime are real like but ex: Disney channel they are hoạt hình right? but ex: Chuyện thần tiên ở New York they are real like right? so its the same thing as anime and hoạt hình also do bạn understand Mino1234????

6.So anime is Japanese animation.

For me, phim hoạt hình is animation; however, the styles it can be done in vary infinitely. anime is a type of cartoon, with only the cultural background causing a difference in how it's done and made. Western phim hoạt hình is another style of cartoon. There are good and bad versions of both, and are the hoạt hình of the culture.

It's really just the same word in a different language; why else would people define "anime" as "Japanese cartoons" when trying to explain it to others?

anime is cartoons. Just Japanese cartoons. anime is a type of phim hoạt hình and they are described as Japanese hoạt hình when defining the term so yea they are hoạt hình and anyone who thinks otherwise is not thinking about this logically in any matter that is good. People like to separate anime from hoạt hình and other types of phim hoạt hình but they are in fact Japanese cartoons. End of story. If bạn try to tell me otherwise I will conclude bạn are being delusional and cannot be reason with. Others have stated the same thing and btw if bạn get that upset over such a trivial thing bạn really need to chill out.
