2 week's later. Shadow's POV.


I was so bored with just handling skirmishes that happend outside the territory. I wanted to go and destroy the enemy now. Fang wanted to do the same. Me and him were just getting trang chủ right now. We had just taken out a stone lion who was trying to break through the territory. We both had cuts and bruises, But nothing serios. We both walked into the den. Everybody looked up at us.

"Oh my gosh Shadow are bạn alright?" Aleu cried. I rolled my eyes. She just cared about me to much. It was getting annoying.

"I'm fine Aleu. Calm down." I said. She just kept on worrying about me. I stepped up to my father.

"Dad why can't we just go and attack them instead of waiting for them to attack us?" I complained. My dad just sighed.

"Fang we can't make reckless decisions like that. thêm could get killed that way. We need to wait for the enemy to attack us." He said. He always đã đưa ý kiến that. I just growled and stormed off to the back of the den. Aleu followed me. Gods she was getting annoying.

"Aleu just leave alone!" I growled. She just kept following me. Now she was getting under my skin. "Why won't bạn leave me alone?!?" I yelled at her. She flinched back.

"Its just I care about you. That's all.But I'll leave bạn alone now." She đã đưa ý kiến not looking me in the eye. She turned and headed toward the main part of the Den. I hated doing that to her. I decided to get some sleep.

3 hours later.

I was tired of just waiting for the enemy to attack. I was sneaking out. I tiptoad outside and started heading for the border. I heard somebody behind me and spun around. It was Fang.

"What are doing out Fang?" I asked casually.

"I'm coming with you." He said.

"I'm going nowhere important." He raised his eye. He knew my plan.

"Well lets beat these guys." He said. I grinned. I was happy to have him on my side. We started heading to the border. We snuck past the guards my father placed and continued. We then hid in the bushes and watched the stone creatures camp. It all seemed normal. I looked over at Fang and he nodded. We then jumped out.

"We're here to take you!" I growled. I then went all silver and threw some ngọn lửa, chữa cháy at a stone fox, which erupted. Fang went all dark red and stomeped the ground making a fissure which sucked down two stone bears. We were winning cause we had the element of surprise. But then the stone army pushed back.

Me and Fang had to retreat. Though when we looked where we had retreated, I cursed myself. We had retreated to a cliff. I knew it was my fault for Fang being there. I turned to him.

"Fang get out of here. I'll hold them off." I yelled to him. He shook his head.

"Not happening Shadow. We're in this together." He told me. I smiled. I was glad he was here. We then charged the enemy and took some thêm out. I then felt a pain in my shoulder. I looked down. A stone human had stuck me with a stone knife. We backed up. Fang saw my shoulder. "Shadow are bạn okay?!?!" He asked me. I nodded. But my eye's drooped. I then looked over at him.

"Tell my father and Aleu. That I'm sorry." I đã đưa ý kiến and fell back off the cliff.

Fang's POV.

I watched as my cousin and best friend fell over the cliff. I knew I had to get away. I ran past the stone army and headed back into the border. Hutch ran up to me.

"Your mother and father were worried sick about you. Where's Shadow?" He asked. I shook my head. Hutch backtracked.He then closed his eye's in prayer. "Let's go tell his parents." He said. I nodded and followed him with my head down.

"FANG!" My mother yelled and ran up and hugged me. My father was close behind her. My aunt and uncle were behind them. As was Aleu.

"Where's Shadow?" She asked. I shook my head.

"I'm sorry Aleu." I said. She took a step back shaking her head.

"No. No. NO!" She cried spilling tears. Kate and ngôi sao also had tears. Humphrey just stood in shock. I then told them everything. Aleu just couldn't believe Shadow was gone. She kept whispering to herself, Her mother tried to comfort her. I went and layed down bởi myself. 'Why?' I thought to myself.
