Point blank- the MEDIA!!! If the media thinks that a salacious story will sell- even if it is malicious and untrue- they will put it out there. Unfortunately many people like the dirt and gossip regardless of who it hurts. I believe that Mike felt ambiguous about the media. On the one hand, they hounded him (tortured him- if bạn really want to know the truth). But on the other, he knows he needs them- every celebrity does. It's like a two-edged sword.
