The questions isn't specific to 'All My Love Is For You' but instead to singing overall

nice poll im between soo and yuri

1. Sooyoung - I have always found her voice to be very pleasant. While she isn't the best vocalist in SNSD she is the best out of these options.
2. Hyoyeon - Her singing skills were iffy when she debuted but over the years she has improved quite a bit.
3. Yuri - Her singing has gone downhill over the past year or two.
4. Yoona - Her voice is so plain and boring. ~_~

I thinks it's a clear win for Sooyoung.

this a no brainer, i can't with the people voting on Yuri. don't make me laugh... not only her voice ONLY sounds good in the studio version, she's TERRIBLE on live performances, don't believe me? watch the fancams from their second japanese tour...it's pretty recent

heck even Hyoyeon is getting better than Yuri....from my perspective, YoonYul are the worst vocalists now in terms of technique

i still can't understand why SM sometimes makes Yuri sing more than Sooyoung

^the reason Sooyoung switched was because Jessica didn't have enough stamina to be a dancer, so they switched her with Sooyoung since I guess Sooyoung has better stamina


I will just rely information from a critic from 2010

Hyoyeon-"Her rapping skills may not be on a par with professional rapper-singers but it’s her specialty in the group" she isn't bad but kinda nasally.

Sooyoung-"Lacks of understanding on how to execute her high and low notes perfectly because she does not have a solo part. But her harmonizing skills are good" basically needs more work but its better than the rest of the group to me

Yuri-"As an idol group member, her vocal skills aren’t bad at all. But, that doesn’t mean she has only one range. It’s a conservative vocal". She stays in her lane and doesn't try an do anything that sounds bad.

Yoona-"Although her vocal skills aren’t the greatest, but she is good at harmonizing" she has a nice sound but again tries to play safe and even then her voice is shaky

it's obviously Sooyoung~ as like what pa92 said, Yuri is terrible when singing live but I still think that she's good than Hyoyeon and Yoona~

^I think Yuri is a better singer than Hyoyeon because although Hyoyeon may sing louder that doesn't mean she is a better singer. Hyoyeon doesn't have to sing difficult parts like Yuri does, well more difficult parts. Notice how Yoona and Hyoyeon never do a lot of high notes. I mean Yuri as bad as her high notes sound is at least an attempt something that Hyoyeon has never done.

Yuri's voice is getting worse

but tiagih that's from 2010, many things change in just 3 years...for example Yuri, i thought Yuri was really good back in 2007,2008 and maaaaybe 2009. but since 2010 that she's getting worse and worse. 2013 is really her worst, she's not stable and it looks like she almost can't breath when she's singing her lines...
look at this...i know the sound system sucked but really, that's no excuse. some of them sounded good..it wasn't really the mic it was Yuri's voice link 2:16 not only she's terribily out of tune, she can't even finnish her line, i think she has breathing problems, even worse than Seohyun

Seohyun was the exact opposite. i used to think Seohyun was really bad, especially at the run devil run and oh performances, but she improoved so much
Hyoyeon, somehow was a little better in the past, she used to execute more high notes for example and she seemed to have a better control...

Yoona i don't see much improovement, i would say she sounds the same

Sooyoung, definitely improoved, but i do agree that she still needs more work. i just find ridiculous how many sones still like to believe that Yuri is a great vocalist and the best out of the dancers, by far...

^^well to be honest I don't know much about quality as far as a singer goes, I mostly research and look at peoples perspective. This is the only one I have found that was from a credited person. Yuri's voice is only bad because to me she is shaky, but Sooyoung isn't that much better. Yuri can hit higher notes than Sooyoung but problem is control which is why her voice is so low and shaky, with an extra factor of a lack of confidence. Sooyoung only trumps Yuri because she is more audible because she is more stable, but that is it.

^ i disagree....heck you never even see Yuri doing high notes. Sooyoung's high note in Sway is probably the highest she can do and, despite being a studio version, she sounded really good. i'm sure she would have the confidence to sing it live but too bad we're never going to see that performance anymore...
i've never heard Yuri sing higher than Sooyoung's "sway" note

even on the new korean album, the high notes go directly to Sooyoung, never Yuri

^well, an example of Yuri's high notes (she only sang one-line) is "Mistake"~ does that count? just asking~

^^In Sway Sooyoung did a F5, Yuri can do up to a C#6 i believe, it as the opera episode. Sooyoung can do a B5 which is higher than a f5. Sooyoung and Yuri aren't too good at high notes, the only difference is that one sounds more audible. Sooyoung gets shaky like Yuri when singing, but the only difference is that Sooyoung is just more stable.

pearlxashxdawn that high note is much lower than Soo's high note in "sway". but yeah, i guess it counts as a high note
