Trò chơi vương quyền Jorah Mormont was originally supposed to survive, and tham gia Jon and Tormund beyond The tường in the finale. Did GOT make the right call?

“For a long time we wanted Ser Jorah to be there at The Wall in the end,” writer Dave Hill says. “The three coming out of the tunnel would be Jon and Jorah and Tormund. But the amount to logic we’d have to bend to get Jorah up to The Wall and get him to leave Dany’s side right before [the events in the finale] … there’s no way to do that blithely. And Jorah should have the noble death he craves defending the woman he loves.” -link

So basically they killed Jorah 'cause they decided to spend half an hour on extreme close-ups and watching people walk instead of, y'know, writing things.

I think it would've been incredible to see Jorah watch Daenerys go mad. Seeing him face that internal battle would've been 10x more interesting than Jon & Tyrion, because he's been with her since day one. You big dummies.

Brienne should have been killed in the long night battle. It would have been a noble death for her. She only survived to get ruined by this unnecessary love chemistry. She was only there for the sex and had no good role for the plot later on. And in exchange Jorah should have lived to see Danny go crazy. It would have interesting if Jorah killed Danny instead of Jon or prolly could have convinced her not to go crazy. Idk, man. Everything that happened after the long night was complete shit.

His only death he could accept would be dying for his queen. I cried during his death. I wouldn't take that moment back. I'm actually somewhat glad he didn't live to see Dany at her worst. However if he lived I wonder if he could have had impact on her psyche.

He was one of my favourite character so no. It would've been better if a more major and important character died during the battle

Jorah turning on Dany would've been so much more interesting than Jon and Tyrion.

It’s be very hard to sell Dany’s crumbling mental state had Jorah live, and, as much as I like Jorah, I do like the twisted irony of him redeeming himself for being a slaver through his faith, love, and support for Dany, ending with him sacrificing himself for her, only for her to truly not be the wuren that he or others thought she’d be.

It might have been good if other people had died instead in the Long Night episode, but if this would be the only change compared to the version we got, it would have been even more unbelievable. Jorah was arguably the biggest death of the episode...
