Talk about girls with opposite intentions. One wants to be on land and the other wants to be among the sea. I ADORE both of them!

Wow I didn't notice the contrasts in goals until this poll! Neat. Also Moana all the way, she's lit!

I just love how devoted she is to her family and tribe. She strikes the balance perfectly between becoming independent and respecting her origins and family.

Ariel I find is way too dismissive of the world she's leaving behind. I find it incredibly immature.

I still love her more than Moana. But that's because Moana just feels like a composite of Rapunzel's slight discomfort with changing her life, and Pocahontas's ambivalent "I can't make up my mind." Moana is a mixture of the two.

Ariel is much more decisive and does not seem to "sit on the fence." Moana does straddle the fence a lot. So. That's why Ariel is still higher on my list.

No one can ever beat her.

Completely agrer with @Aang_Lite_. Moana is more well-written character rather than Ariel.

She is a bit of a Sue, but she still has some realistic aspects of her personality. And yeah, what Aang said.

Moana is just a Mary Sue.
