Why the Disney Princess brand in Nhật Bản only have the original 6 & Rapunzel as official members? 

I actually prefer the Japanese lineup. They only use the classical definition of a princess. However, Pocahontas has a degree of popularity in Japan as well. They do not consider her a princess so she gets solo merchandise instead.

Maybe because China and Japan had a neutral relationship.
