I will start out this review bởi saying that Naughty Dog has created what is easily among the worst games I have ever played. The gameplay and graphics in Uncharted are horrendous and the atmosphere is terrible. The controls are very loose and the story is lousy.
...That's what I WOULD say, if I were a guy who played the game in a mental asylum.
Because the truth is, Uncharted is one of the greatest games I have ever played. The gameplay and graphics in Uncharted are highly entertaining and beautiful, respectively. The atmosphere around bạn is so realistic, at times bạn think bạn could reach right into the TV and begin shooting pirates in the head alongside Nathan Drake. The controls are refined and are easy to use and the story- well now, the story is phenomenally genius.

OK. To sum up the story in a nutshell, Nathan vịt đực, drake is an experienced treasure hunter searching for his famous pirate ancestor Sir Francis Drake's Mất tích sunken ship on his return to Spain- and the treasure Francis vịt đực, drake found on his journey. Also on the adventure is a huge army of ruthless pirates whom vịt đực, drake owes money to, a smexy female reporter named Elena Fisher who needs a story for her channel, and Sully, Nate's cigar-chomping cohort who looks like he belongs in Florida, and a bunch of REALLY scary- well, I'll let bạn find out about that bit. It is told very well and will keep bạn immersed through the whole thing. The story never weakens despite a rather sudden ending that comes far too soon.

The gameplay in Uncharted is awesome. A combination of run-and-gun, puzzles, platforming, and even survival-horror, ever bit of it is as comepelling as the story and is twice as fun as any generic and mindless shoot-em-up bạn always see on the shelves. What's especially cool is that around the last quarter of the game you'll discover that you've been walking around in circles much of the time throughout the adventure and you'll have to fight hoặc platform through some scenarious bạn saw before, usually in a different means of gameplay. One of the few problems with the gameplay was, the platforming requires little to no skill in most parts other than just pointing Nate in the right direction and pressing X. Obviously this is fine in a level like, say, "The Fortress", but it seems to take away a bit in the other levels where it's thêm straightforward. In this update to the review I shall not detract points, as it is not a major flaw, but do note that. Ooh, one thêm thing: the grenades are LOUSY. Their blasts are puny. And aiming them is a huge pain, as bạn are required to di chuyển the controller about with the Sixaxis. Hopefully in the sequel they'll improve upon the grenades.

The graphics are incredible. The jungle around bạn looks so unbelievably real that if bạn played Uncharted on a PSP out in a jungle like the one seen in Drake's Fortune, bạn couldn't tell the difference. The production values are amazing. Easily the most standout part of the game graphic-wise though are the water effects. The water looks exactly like an actual pond. It can even take bạn a while to notice the small cá swimming throughout the small ponds formed bởi the brilliant looking waterfall above you.
Some critics complained about some pop-up in the jungle in some areas, but consider this: Uncharted uses no next-gen filters to hide graphical flaws, which means what you're looking at is the real deal, but in a similar game, Gears of War, they do. I'll admit this is because the 360 is ultimately as powerful a console at many times when comparing it to the PS3, but I will still add an additional point to the graphics section.

The sound and voice-acting are excellent as well. When getting pumped full of lead bởi a tháp nhỏ, tháp pháo hoặc hit bởi a shell, sound effects become dull and bạn feel isolated, which is an awesome touch. vịt đực, drake will make snarky các bình luận during some events, such as when a new wave of pirates comes running in at you, and believe it hoặc not, they never seem to get old.

There is one single thing that truly stands out throughout this epic jungle romp the most, however- and if I even mentioned it would give away the whole story to the game- but for those who've played through the whole game, I'm talking about the part where bạn have to restore power to the one submarine. Yeah, bạn know what I'm talking about. That part was so outstandingly well implemented into the game that this single part alone (which really required bạn to change the pace of play) should win Naughty Dog the developer of the năm award. It was put in at the perfect time and the gameplay was put into the perfect place. It was absolute genius.
If you've been waiting for a game that truly shows just what the PS3 is capable of and has great production values, Uncharted is a must buy. Get it today. hoặc the muta- err, sorry- the guys I talked about in the last paragraph will find you.
