So, I decided that shorter chapters were actually a good idea, especially when it came to action sequences...I'm not working for anything thêm than the right emotion and pace. I really want bạn to feel what the characters feel throughout this battle and what not...
My inspiration for this chapter came from my walk to work today. It was an enlightening walk as bạn can see and I came up with some great ideas for this and the tiếp theo chapter.

Chapter 16: How much thêm trouble could I cause . . .? (Renesmee)
I pushed on through the forest. There wasn’t a thing I wanted thêm than to find Jacob, hold him in my arms and tell him I loved him. It was a form of motivation I wasn’t really used to. I finally understood why my mother had risked her life for Renee, for dad. She was willing to die for the people she loved, and so was I. No matter what happened, I was going to keep looking. Jacob was my one and only, the tình yêu of my life, and I wasn’t willing to lose him, not matter what. The future, at this very moment looked bleak, but we’d been lucky before so why not this time?
I was suddenly falling. Since when was there a hole in the middle of the forest? I landed in a crouch, pulling myself upright cautiously.
“Renesmee?” Alice called above.

“We’re coming down.”
“No! Stay there.”

The scent of my foes and of Jacob rushed toward me. I was close and somehow moving up an incline. This was strange to me.

I crawled through the opening, finding myself inside a cave; a cave I quickly realized was the same one that had housed a family of rogue mountain lions just last summer. Mom, Dad and I had hunted outside a few times before they were eventually—well—gone. How the hell had I ended up here? I had to have been at least two miles from where I started. I looked around in the midday light, surveying my surroundings.
There, in the back corner, was a huddled mass. I stared at it a moment, trying to find some sort of familiarity in the shape. Jacob was here. His scent was the strongest it had been since he’d lay in giường beside me the night before. It moved, lifting its head slowly.
“Jacob!” I exclaimed under my breath, running to his side. I held his face in my hands looking him over. Any injuries inflicted were either healing hoặc already healed bởi this time. “Jacob, are bạn okay?”

My eyes narrowed suspiciously, “You knew I was grounded?”
“Of course I did! Where do bạn think I was going when I phased?”

I looked back at the ground.
“I just don’t want anything to happen to you.” He lifted his right hand to caress my cheek. “Forgive me?”
I stared at the floor for a minute. There was obviously no way I could not forgive him. I looked up at him. “Yeah,” I whispered.
He smiled with a nod. “Good. Now, why don’t we get out of here before they come back?”
I nodded my consent and we started out of the cave.
We’d only made it a few meters when that familiar, sweet scent filled the air strongly. I stopped, crouching down defensively.
“Nessie, don’t do anything stupid.” Jacob whispered, searching the trees to our left.
I growled looking behind me. There was no sign of them. It was strange. I knew they were here, but for some reason, I couldn’t see them. Then, another notion hit me. I looked up.
The cloaked figure leaped from the cây limb above, landing lithely to my right.
I stepped back, spreading my arms defensively in front of Jacob.
“I told you. Trap,” Jacob whispered as the figure lowered his hood.
“Well, well. If it isn’t the littlest Cullen.”
“That’s not truly accurate anymore, Demetri.” Another figure said. I looked back as Jacob turned to the other; Felix was only feet away from him, smirking callously. “Youngest, not littlest.”
“It’s all the same.” Demetri said, smiling cruelly.
“It’s good to see bạn too, Demetri.” I sneered.
“Seems bạn joined the party sooner than expected.”
“Party?”
“It’s always a party when the Cullens and the Volturi get together.” Felix chortled behind me.
“I can’t say that I agree. Though, bạn do tend to bring a gift whenever bạn come for a visit.” I smirked.
Demetri’s brows pulled together questionably, “What do bạn mean little girl?”
“Nessie . . .” Jacob whispered pleadingly.
“Why, death and destruction of course.” I continued, ignoring him. “Without you, there wouldn’t be enough of that around here.”
Demetri laughed.
I hadn’t realized what happened until I was kneeling down on the ground. He had smacked me hard across the face something I knew Jacob would not be able to let go. I was on my feet in a second, holding Jacob back.
He growled as he tried forcing past me, shaking furiously, “You son of a—!”
“Jake, quit it!”
He looked down into my eyes, breathing heavily.
“Calm down. bạn can’t phase, your arm is broken, remember?” I whispered.
He looked to Demetri, his teeth clenched. With a final growl he turned back to Felix.
“He is quite the guard dog.” Demetri mocked. “Does he do any tricks? Besides obey?”
“What do bạn want?” I asked ferociously.
“You know why we’ve come.” Felix snapped.
“Yeah. That doesn’t mean you’re going to get it.”
He laughed, “You think bạn can stop us? bạn honestly believe that your pitiful family can challenge the Volturi and survive?”
“They are not pitiful,” Jacob fumed.
Demetri joined in Felix’s banter, laughing roughly, “You are such fools.”
I growled, “The only fools I see here are the two of you.”
Demetri’s face fell to anger. His eyes narrowed as he lifted his hand once thêm to strike me.
I flinched as his palm started towards me, only to be stopped bởi a sudden, tight grip on his wrist.
“Keep your hands off my niece.” Emmett growled throwing Demetri into the cây he’d sprang from.
He recovered instantly, a malevolent hiss creeping through his bared teeth.
