And before anyone says anything about 3x10 not technically being their first kiss- It was their first real, mutual kiss! In 2x01... Damon wasn't even in his right mind & Elena wasn't wanting him to kiss her then. In 2x22, while Elena initiated the kiss this time and obviously Damon wouldn't have turned her down, he was dying & once again there was a lack of... both people fully being engaged in the moment.
