Chapter 18
    The consequences were worth it
    “Look I really am sorry, I just…”
    “Threw a pie at her face,” the principal said, giving me a look.
    “Look Principal Gerad, I really am sorry, time’s have been very tough at my house. And…well Meredith and I aren’t exactly what you’d call best friend material, hoặc dynamic…we just hate each other.”
    “So bạn threw a pie in her face.”
    “I don’t know why your making me out to be the bad guy, she’s done loads worse, I promise you.”
    “Yes, well miss Jones, your promises aren’t exactly trustworthy, and this isn’t your first offense-”
    “But I can explain!”
    “-So I have no choice but to suspend bạn for the rest of the week.”
    “What? No! bạn can’t do that! bạn haven’t even heard the whole story!”
    “Who should I call to pick bạn up?”
    “Don’t worry I’ll handle it,” I snapped as I stood up and rushed out of the room.
    I texted Adam to come pick me up, and instead of going straight to the front door, I lollygagged to pass time. Probably a few phút have passed, just enough time for Adam, when I went to the front doors. Where two people I did not want to see were standing there.
    “Get out of my way, Meredith.” I say, not glancing at Cal.
    “I want an apology,” Meredith replied curtly, purposefully holding Cal’s hand.
    “Yeah? Well your not getting any, anyways, I see the pie has none no damage to that lovely face.” Which is true, her make-up was fixed and she looked thêm stunning.
    “You can’t talk to my girl like that!” Cal said. “Say your sorry.”
    “Oh, so now your ordering me around.” I say, feeling fury build up. “And I didn’t know she was girl, assuming the way she was all over Grey. She doesn’t even like you, she’s trying to make him jealous.”
    “Take that back!” Meredith roared.
    “No, now out of my way.”
    “Apologize and take that back!”
    “Leave me alone!”
    Meredith took a step towards me arm extended why Cal just stood there! “Oh, I’m not going to leave-”
    “What’s going on?” A voice asked.
    I looked at the front door to see Ryler (squeal and a massive blush) standing there.
    “Oh…um, nothing.” Meredith replied, trying to sugar áo, áo khoác her way out.
    Ryler nodded. “It better be, because if I find out this isn’t the first time this happens, I’m involving the police, run along now.”
    He grabbed my hand and led me out the doors. I was too shell shocked to speak, but I found my voice after he buckled me in his trái cam, màu da cam jeep.
    “Thank you, thank you, thank you. I didn’t think she would try, she’s never before! And Cal just watched! That jerk! I’m so glad bạn came! I was waiting after I sent the text…wait a minute, what are bạn doing here?”
    Ryler chuckled, “your brother was a bit preoccupied, asked me to come pick bạn up. Good thing too, he would’ve pounded that poor guy’s face, and scared that girl to death. That would be entertaining though.”
    I laughed. “Well thanks for coming to my rescue, hero.”
    “No problem my damsel in distress.”
    I smiled at that, and some time fell asleep to the drive home, I woke up later to find myself on my bed, a hoa on my bedside.
