bạn all know the tale of Duncan and Courtney. They met on Total Drama Island, they had a temporary seperation, and had some friend issues. But bạn will never forget this turn in their relationship. (btw, I was watching iFight Shelby Marx when I came up with this :D)

I had been waiting anxiously for three months for the returning letter saying I'd been accepted into Harvard College. And depending on my intelligence and my flair for pollitics, I was sure I'd be a shoo-in.

But the thought still haunted my being- would Duncan forget me?

Duncan and I were planning on going steady soon, and I hoped nothing would interfere with that. But I was in WAY over my head.


That tiếp theo day, I got up early in the morning and ran outside to get the mail. I sorted through what seemed like a never ending pile of bills and envelopes. "Junk, junk, junk, junk, junk..." and I screamed. My letter returned with an acception. I was going to Harvard tiếp theo week!

I was ecstatic. My 14 năm old sister Bethany walked out the door onto the front steps, still in her pj's, and wiping her eyes. "Can bạn keep it down a notch?"

"No!" I said, and Bethany grunted and went back inside. "Don't expect me to drive bạn down to America." She đã đưa ý kiến while closing the door.

I ran back inside to get dressed, then darted back out the front door to run to Duncan's house, three miles away.

Once I got there, she rang his doorbell urgently. "Coming!" Someone đã đưa ý kiến from inside, and Duncan's mother opened the door.

"Hi, I'm Courtney, Duncan's girlf-" I started.

"Girlfriend." Mrs. Payne finished and nodded strictly. "He's upstairs in his room."

"Thanks!" I ran up the staircase and walked down the hall, looking for Duncan's room. Mrs. Payne had three sons and a daughter, so it would be pretty challenging to find-

I stopped at a black door with posters all over the front of it, and a red spray paint sign that read "KEEP OUT, DANGER AHEAD".

Wow, I wonder who was in there? As if it wasn't pretty obvious. There was loud rock âm nhạc blaring from inside, and I suggested that Duncan was listening to his stereo.

I knocked on the door, and the loud âm nhạc stopped. I heard footsteps, and the door opened. Duncan didn't hiển thị any emotion to me being there. He just sighed and said, "Princess, if bạn wanted to di chuyển in with me, bạn could've told me beforehand."

We bursted out laughing.

"So what are bạn here for?" He asked.

"I'm going to college tiếp theo Monday!" I jumped up and down, waving the envelope.

"No way." He smiled grimly, then looked at the ground.

I noticed this, and I wouldn't expect any less reaction. "Aw, Duncan, I'll miss bạn too." I lifted his face up and kissed him. "But this is a big and important step in my life and our relatioship."

"My girl gonna forget me?" He put his arms around my waist.

"Absolutely not." I smiled and hugged him. "My flight leaves in half an hour."

"Don't worry, I'll be there to say good-bye." He ruffled my hair. "But at least let me get dressed."

"Kay, bye!" I laughed and ran back down the staircase and out the front door, and back down the đường phố, street to my house.


Later at the airport, I was all packed and ready to fly down to America. Bethany couldn't wait for me to be gone so she could have peacec and quiet, but my parents din't want me to leave. And above all, Duncan was, bởi a longshot, the saddest one there.

I walked over to him and felt his arm muscles. "Aww, has my bad boy gone soft on me?"

"I'm gonna miss you, babe." he hugged me.

"I will, too. But I'll be sure to call and email bạn whenever I can."

He chuckled and kissed me. It would be our last kiss. At lesat, for a while. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and we pulled away and I hugged him one thêm time before boarding the airplane.

Once I got in a back seat, I heard the turbines start up, and I waved goodbye to Duncan, tears dripping down my face. He waved back, and for the first time in my life, I saw him wipe tears from his eyes.

The airplane started moving, and it left the ground.
