i dont want gale to die either bcz hes really cool and would do anything to make katniss happy he does things that peeta never would he would also die to protect her and the fact that (sorry if you havent read it yet) in the 3rd book he riskes his life to save someone he hates to make sher that katniss is happy even if it is peeta and even tho he hates peeta he still rescues him to make katniss happy and thats true love even tho katniss loves both of them and she only has to choose one i think that peeta should die

@ryuk122 Gale never hated Peeta. He even said in Catching Fire "It would be better if he were easier to hate." He was more jealous of Peeta, especially in Mockingjay because he knew from watching the 75th games and after Peeta was hijacked that Peeta had won Katniss over. I also think that he went on the mission partially for the rebellion because he knew that Katniss could not hold it together without Peeta. It is also mentioned in Mockingjay that he and Peeta were talking and laughing as if they are old friends, so clearly, Gale never hated him. He was merely jealous. But I do agree, even though he was jealous of Peeta, he did want Katniss to be happy. That's also why I think he left to go get a job someplace else, so that Katniss could be with Peeta and he wouldn't get in the way.

If there were a sequel, I would like to see Gale come back married to a really sweet girl, someone who's less like Katniss and more like Peeta (or even Delly, I don't know). He needs someone less fiery than Katniss, just like Katniss needed someone less fiery than herself.

If it came down to one of them having to die, I'd rather it be Gale, if for no other reason than that Katniss would be "damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies" (Catching Fire)
