Part 13:

Marcus’ POV:

The sun shone through the windows as I walked down the corridor, my feet brushing against the red carpet. The golden light lit up some of the stone wall, leaving the untouched patches cold. I was following the sound of a piano: Didyme was playing again. Opening the wooden door at the end of the corridor, I stepped through into the large room.

The room was almost empty, except for a grand đàn piano in the centre of the room, and a red chaise long in the corner. The walls and floor were stone, with a circular, red sheepskin rug under the piano. Didyme was sitting on a red ghế đẩu, phân in front of the piano, her fingers moving over the keys fluidly. Her hair hung down her back, long and inky black.

I crossed the room to her, watching her play. When she’d finished the piece, she turned to face me, smiling.

“Hello, Marcus,” She said, her hair falling in her face.

“Good afternoon,” I responded, tucking her hair back behind her ear as I sat beside her on the stool. “That was beautiful, bởi the way,” I added, commenting on the piece she’d played on the piano.

“Thank you.” Then, she looked over my shoulder, at the door. I followed her gaze, and saw Felix.

“What is it, Felix?” I asked, because he looked slightly anxious.

“Aro wants to speak with you, Marcus,” he told me, before turning and walking away down the corridor.

I got to my feet. Didyme took my hand, and we left the room and hurried down the corridor. Of course, Aro often organised meetings and it hardly ever meant something terrible was happening. Felix, however, was only worried bởi something extremely worrying. This was bad, very bad.

I was about to ask Didyme what she thought had happened: she knew Aro better than anyone did, seeing as she was his brother. But, just then, Jane came running down the corridor. With horror, I realized this was a lot worse than I’d ever suspected. Jane was devastated, whereas she was always calm and collected.

I gripped Didyme’s hand tighter as we hurried over to Jane. What she đã đưa ý kiến tiếp theo shocked me so much, I almost didn’t believe it.
