It was the war of demons vs Bastion's Keep. Soon, a demon from the war burst into their house. Riana and Brandon had no powers, so the demon tore the house apart. Then she got mad and grabbed her enchantment wand and threw an angelic laser, killing the demon that had killed her husband. Then she changed into some black clothes and mourned Brandon, for she had nothing to revive him with. And Riana still wears black clothes due to her not overcoming Brandon's death and remains a widow to this day.
