I love how not only does Symphonic Metal combine orchestra/choirs with heavy guitars, but many bands experiment with other genres, as well. It's like all of my favorite music molded into one genre.

Zanhar1, that is exactly the word I was going to use: magical!

@Arctic yes! That's another great thing they combine things like opera folk metal classic rock etc. it's a super neat blend. Plus the singers all seem to know or know of each other and they are super friendly and appreciative of their fans.

I'm glad to see the genre is getting a lot of love here. I think there's a lot to appreciate about it - some of which people here have already mentioned! It's quite an experimental and interesting genre... it shouldn't work, but it does. I respect that. :)

Same, I like that it gets love her because offline I have pretty much no one to talk to about it. In a way I'm glad it's not mainstream (so it won't get all that hate nor will it be overplayed) but in a way I wish it were (so I could hear it on the radio and not have to but albums online).
