What can I say? Blake DeWitt was my yêu thích Dodger and has been for a long time. I was - and still am - heartbroken when I found out he was traded yesterday.
Not only am I personally sad, but I think it was a huge mistake to trade him away. We got Theriot, a 30 năm old một giây baseman on his way out - true, he has speed - but DeWitt has thêm RBIs, thêm patience, and a great attitude. Plus he's a hard worker and he has great passion for the game. The Cubs are going to see a lot of really great things out of DeWitt and we will probably see Theriot's eventual retirement (which he wanted to spend with the Cubs anyway).
I think we should have just gone ahead with the Lilly trade and kept DeWitt right where he was.
Goodbye DeWitt, bạn were a great player and I'll miss bạn a lot. I wish bạn all the best in Chicago.
