Part 7

House: Do bạn want me to stay hoặc do bạn want me to go?
(Cuddy stood there her mouth slightly open, speechless.)
Cuddy: House.
(House looked into Cuddy’s eyes and caressed her cheek. Cuddy leaned into his hand closing her eyes before looking back up at House. With that Cuddy and House kissed each other tenderly.)
Cuddy: Thanks for intruding.
(Cuddy spoke in a soft voice, and House replied in the same tone.)
House: No problem.
(Cuddy stepped to the side and House walked on past her and out the door. Wilson watched as House walked towards the car.)
Wilson: Why were bạn still in there after that guy left?
House: We…talked.
Wilson: Again?
(House looked at Wilson with a serious look on his face.)
Wilson: How long will it be before bạn two finally have sex?
(Wilson turned the car on and they drove off.)
--
House was lying in his bed, thinking about what happened just a few hours before. He couldn’t help but rationalize everything that had happened since that one fateful night two months ago.
Meanwhile Cuddy was pacing around her home, whilst Emily slept soundly. It was one o’clock in the morning and all she could think about was House.
--
It was early the tiếp theo morning and House had already been at work since 7 am. He didn’t get any sleep; his thoughts going through his head had kept him awake.
Wilson made his usual coffee run at 8 am and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw House in his office.
Wilson: House what are bạn doing in this early?
(House was playing with his ball and had a grave look on his face.)
House: I couldn’t get to sleep. She kept me up all night, her and that humungous đít, mông, ass of hers.
(Wilson sighed and then sat opposite him.)
Wilson: What bạn should be doing is actually talking to her.
House: I don’t need to talk to her to know how she feels. She already told me.
Wilson: And?
(House’s eyes conveyed a thousand words as he looked up at Wilson before retreating back into his thoughts.)
Wilson: Why didn’t bạn tell her how bạn felt?
House: Even if I đã đưa ý kiến something, it would be pointless.
Wilson: Because you’re still stuck in the past House.
(House looked back at Wilson.)
House: I’m over Stacy. I broke-up with her remember.
Wilson: It’s not about Stacy, and bạn know it’s not. This is all about your obsession with Cuddy staying your boss and not becoming something more.
(Wilson got up and left, while House looked out of the window and contemplated making one of the biggest decisions of his life.)
--
(When Cuddy came into work, she was surprised to see a package on her desk. It was a plain cardboard box with no wrapping around it, and no note. Cuddy didn’t know what to make of it, since the only person who had a key to her office was House. When she opened it, she was taken aback and gasped.)
Cuddy: Oh my God.
(The gift was a silver necklace; which had the initials ‘LC’ inscribed on the vòng tròn pendant that was attached to it.)
--
(Wilson noticed Cuddy in the cafeteria and joined her for lunch.)
Wilson: Hey.
(Cuddy looked up at Wilson and smiled at him.)
Cuddy: I hope you’ll apologize for last night.
Wilson: I was forced against my will to drive that car. So did it work?
(Cuddy took a sip of her coffee before fiddling with her new necklace.)
Cuddy: Maybe. I’m still not certain on what to make of this…thing.
Wilson: As long as bạn and Emily are happy, then that’s all that matters. Right?
Cuddy: Of course. She means everything to me.
Wilson: When she leaves? What are bạn going to do then?
Cuddy: Well, she’s not leaving anytime soon.
Wilson: But when she does—
Cuddy: If.
Wilson: If she does, I know you’ll want to turn to a certain someone.
(Cuddy smirked at Wilson.)
Wilson:…But that person won’t be there forever. House has got enough problems with himself, than to deal with yours.
Cuddy: Thanks. I can tell bạn care, very much.
Wilson: Don’t expect him to follow bạn down every road bạn take, because all you’ll do is lose him.
(Cuddy looked at Wilson with angst in her eyes.)
--
(It was the end of the ngày and House was catching up on some Mất tích sleep from the night before. Cuddy entered his office, which was all dark.)
House: Go away.
Cuddy: bạn need some light in here.
(House opened his eye in surprise that it was Cuddy and not Wilson.)
(Cuddy turned on the lamp on House’s bàn before pushing his leg off the recliner he was laying on, and sat facing him as he sat up.)
House: So. What are bạn here for?
Cuddy: I don’t know.
House: Very helpful; now what are we supposed to do?
Cuddy: Maybe we should talk, properly.
(House tried to avoid the situation and walk away, but Cuddy’s legs were in the way of his, stopping him from escaping.)
House: Fine. Lets talk.
Cuddy: Thank bạn for the gift.
(Cuddy touched her necklace.)
House: I remembered bạn wearing a similar one everyday in college—never took it off except when bạn showered.
(A shocked expression appeared across he face.)
House: Then, one day, bạn weren’t wearing it.
Cuddy: It fell down the vòi hoa sen drain—
(Cuddy smiled.)
Cuddy: But how did bạn know about the inscription?
House: The only time bạn didn’t wear it was in the shower.
(Cuddy shyly looked to the side before smiling back at House, who had a slight smirk on his face.)
Cuddy: How can bạn do things like this? And then be incapable of a relationship?
House: I’m not incapable of having a relationship. I’m just incapable of having one with you.
(Cuddy looked stunned and then stood up and walked away from him to the other side of his office.)
Cuddy: How dare you. How dare bạn use me House! Was I just a…a quick way to get off?
House: No.
Cuddy: Then what the hell’s your problem?
(House stood up and moved towards her slightly.)
House: MY problem? You’re the one who wanted this—
Cuddy: Because bạn kissed me!
(House looked down embarrassed.)
Cuddy: Because…because I thought, I hoped, that maybe the leg didn’t change bạn at all.
(House looked up at her taken aback.)
(Cuddy walked closer to him.)
Cuddy: When we kissed. It wasn’t bạn kissing me. It was a kind, sweet human being. It was Greg, not House.
(House looked into her eyes, with regret.)
Cuddy: I want a relationship with that man, not you.
(Cuddy was making her way out until.)
House: What does this mean?
Cuddy: I don’t know.
(Cuddy pulled the door open and walked out. Leaving House defeated standing there.)
