"Drop it Wilson."

She sighed. She had a clever retort but she knew he had something to say, so she held her tongue.
He just stared at her at first. Then gave a slight scoff. It wasn't a negative scoff, thêm like an entertained scoff. He smiled then slid his hand down his pocket. He clasped something tight in a fist, and waited.

She looked at him curiously.
"What are you--"
He threw the object on the bed. There lay in front of her the very same mahogany box from so many times before.

She stared blankly at him before slowly picking it up. Wilson just continued talking.

Wilson just rolled his eyes.
"ME! I'm proposing to bạn Cuddy, will bạn marry me!"
"Where did he get this ring?"
"He bought it."
"He couldn't have."
"And why not?"
"This is my mothers engagement ring."
"No, he bought it and he showed me the store himself."

Wilson just looked at her then grabbed the case and took out the ring checking the engraving on the inside. Then he read it aloud,
"G.M.H & L.R.C. October 25th, 2008. Gregory Mason House and Lisa Renee Cuddy."
"So he had it engraved again. He has the money to fix it up. I'm telling you, this is the ring my father gave to my mother."

Wilson looked at her curiously. He stared at the stone, examining it and saw it. A tiny speckle of crimson red was embedded on the stone. He looked back up at her.
"How did you--?"
"Because it was my blood. I had put it on and it got stuck. I panicked and just pulled really hard at it and the stone scraped me. Leaving that small residue of blood."

House was kicked back in his chair, trying his very best to ignore the Cameron that stood before him.
"I wouldn't call it a blessing and she gave the ring voluntarily."
"That was nice of her."
"Sure."
"How did she take it when she found out bạn weren't proposing?"

Cameron grew a rather large smile on her face. Her hands covered her mouth to stop herself from screaming.
"Really?"

He gave a sigh. Then began to explain it all.

I can do all these things with my 'talent.' But I've come to realize it doesn't make me who I am. What I've done makes me who I am, not how I've done it. Most people actually look down on how I do things."
Cameron gave a slight smile before he continued on.
"But it's never been enough to please me. Nothing has. I've been leading a miserable life since ngày one. Even when she was in my life. I'm not saying she completes me, hoặc that she makes me whole hoặc anything like that. What she is and who she is--it's almost, unreal. Realistically, bạn cannot find someone like her. Someone who can deal with a baby while juggling her career, and worrying about a narcissistic maniac running about her hospital. We both know she's not exactly the happiest person on Earth either. So we got together, make ourselves happy for once. However, there's a turn. She gets scared things will be on pause like this forever. "We know all this already just get to your point."
"I realized I didn't fight for her. Because, I thought, I couldn't be both things she wanted. A boyfriend and a good doctor. But I was right. But I should've fought for her anyway."
Cameron just looked at him as he gazed off into space. He continued after several seconds.
"I might have been giving up my talent, but I'd get a family in return. I--"
He paused. He started smiling a bit, but it wasn't a happy smile. It turned into thêm of a serious face.
"I was ready to surrender my life to her. And after a few days without her, I know I still am."
Cameron's face saddened a bit at his statement. She threw him a pitiful look before biting her lip.
"The battle's over. The troops wounded. But the War's Not Over."
