It's not a secret that I was very disappointed with most of JKR's choices when it came to romance. Perhaps it wasn't even down to her choices but to the way those couples were written. Most of them were either too plain hoặc just felt tổng thể superficial.

Let's start with the hero and his heroine. Harry praised only a few women throughout the series. Ginny didn't stand out particulary. She's Ron's sister and she's introduced as a shy fangirl. Played a huge role in the book she was introduced in. Vanished for the tiếp theo three books. Harry spent every summer with the Weasleys, yet the two hardly communicated. We find out in HBP that she's the most được ưa chuộng girl in school, the object of desire of every boy in Hogwarts and a fantastic Quidditch player. Oh, yes, and the reason she didn't talk to Harry since CoS is because Hermione advised her not to. Harry on the other hand didn't notice her since CoS, then he felt so madly in tình yêu with her that if it wasn't for those few mentions of his emotions in HBP and DH, I wouldn't even notice it. They got married and had three kids whom they called after Harry's parents, their Những người bạn and one enemy who's probably rolling in his grave because his name stands tiếp theo to Potter's surname (but that one is worthy of a seperate article). Overall, this one is terrible in my eyes. Absolutely no connection between the two, little interaction, it's like they were just tossed together in HBP.

Time for Harry's best friends, one of which is a girl (very important to highlight that one out because the tình yêu of her life didn't notice it until later) and the other his wife's brother. Ron and Hermione are complete opposites, this is clear from PS to DH. Unlike with Ginny and Harry we actually see Ron and Hermione interact. A lot. They usually fight and complain about the other. Sometimes they agree on things – when the thing is Harry (the only thing they have in common). One must wonder if the two would ever notice each other if it wasn't for our dear match-maker Harry. Hm, Ron would certainly notice Hermione in class. I suppose he'd have the same opinion of her as Draco. Minus the insults about her heritage. Hermione probably wouldn't notice Ron. She'd be too much into studying. Maybe she'd secretly regret joining Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw. Now that we have established that the two have nothing in common, let's di chuyển on to biology. hoặc chemistry. Are they attracted to each other enough to forget about their differences? Harry doesn't know so I don't know either (though, we have to be light on Harry here, he hardly notices his own relationships, as explained above). They must be. Otherwise they wouldn't get past all those differences. We do know that neither is particulary attractive though. I guess beauty is in the yes of the beholder... The Harry/Hermione shipper in me thinks this couple is a miss as well.

Time for two ngẫu nhiên ones. Bill and Fleur. Remus and Tonks. Regarding the first one, I must say I didn't see it coming because I didn't see Fleur staying after GoF. It came out of nowhere and I never got their story. It does make me wonder how small the wizarding community really is. It seems everybody knows everybody. The age gap between Remus and Tonks is too big for me to stomach. What was the point of the two of them getting together (after an eternity of loneliness for Remus)? To have a baby and get killed so we can say we had one tragic tình yêu story? Only it wasn't that tragic since they managed to die before I even noticed they were together.

cây dạ yên thảo, petunia and Vernon are one couple I liked. However, unlike wizards, muggles seem like cartoon characters for some reason. I was hoping we'd see thêm affection between the two (after all they're at home), see their thêm human (realistic) side. They're as evil as Voldemort. hoặc maybe thêm evil. I mean, who locks up family members in cupboards?

The really good ones are Ron and Draco's parents. Realistic. No Hollywood family moments. So much affection and emotions with so few words. I'm ending this bài viết with the Weasleys and the Malfoys. Molly and Arthur could've been portrayed as a model 'movie' family: loving and emotional housewife and a successful businessmen who still has time for his children. They weren't. They were portayed as a very normal couple. They have plenty of flaws. Molly is overly emotional, Arthur is a bit childish. The two often embarrass their children either because they're yelling too much (Molly) hoặc because of their hobbys (Arthur). They're not a poor 'sitcom' family that doesn't seem to miss anything. They really can't afford much to their kids. As funny as the scene with Aunt Muriel's robes was, it was also very sad. This was the biggest event in school and they couldn't afford their kids decent clothes. Arthur and Molly aren't kissing and hugging all the time, like parents in many TV comedy shows. And we don't need them to. Without a word uttered we can tell how much they tình yêu each other. Great job from JKR.

Finally, the Malfoys. JKR's best couple IMO. We meet Lucius in Cos and Narcissa in GoF. And we can't stand them. They're rich and arrogant. Everything opposite from the loving characters of Molly and Arthur. We know they treat Draco like a little Prince but we're wondering how they feel about each other. We theorize. những người hâm mộ all over the world write tons of fanfics where they abuse their son secretly hoặc where Lucius abuses his wife and son. Then comes OotP. We find out Narcissa is Bella's sister. JKR informs us she's not a Death Eater. Lucius ends up imprisoned. Draco and Narcissa are flying on the wings of newly found liberty in fanfiction. Then JKR throws HBP in our face. 'Don't bạn dare blame my husband!' Narcissa screams in the face of one of the greatest (and craziest!) witches of all time. A descendant of the most ancient and noble House of Black, the only one who bore an hier to to this family, a woman who's name is Narcissa ('self-centred'), humilliates herself in front of a poor, halfblood begging him for help because of his friendship with her husband. Voldemort's plan is to punish Lucius bởi getting his son killed bởi Dumbledore, a wizard Lucius can't stand, while Lucius is locked in Azkaban and can't do anything to help him. So, we were all wrong. Narcissa isn't self-absorbed like her name suggests. Even Voldemort thinks Draco is the most important thing to Lucius. Nobody's being abused. They just have different political các lượt xem than the Weasleys and Lucius made one big mistake in his youth when joined the Death Eaters. DH only xác nhận that. Narcissa and Lucius don't talk much, they're mostly silent as Voldemort humiliates them. It's not Lucius who has the upper hand anymore in the family. He's a broken man now. It's Narcissa who's holding the family together. She knows they have to endure this if they want to stay alive. bởi just placing her hand over her husband's she's telling him what to do. And he follows her orders. Never with lesser words did JKR manage to hiển thị thêm emotions, affection and mature tình yêu than in the few scences we got with the Malfoys in DH. In the end, Narcissa saves Harry bởi lying in Voldemort's face. Her courageous act (proving her ancestor's P. Nigellius's words about Slytherins being Công chúa tóc xù as well to be true), saves her family from total ruin after the War. The Malfoys raise again after the War proving to be true what we know from real life: some people don't get the punishment we think they deserve. From PS to DH the Malfoys are in the gray area. In the beginning closer to black as Narcissa madien name suggests, in the end as silver as their Hogwarts' House colours. Very emotional. Not cheesy at all. Very realistic. Excellent.

Other notable mentions include Draco and Astoria (very realistic and yet unexpected) and Neville and Hannah (symbolically hiển thị that Neville had a lot of Hufflepuff in himself, and I think he would've fitted great in that House). One couple I didn't give want to give an opinion about are James and Lily because we know very little about them. I didn't like the physical similarities between them and Harry and Ginny. Also, Lily, much like Ginny, is in her own way a Mary-Sue in my eyes.

All in all, I feel JKR didn't do well when it came to the main, younger characters. It feels like they've been just thrown together. I didn't feel the big tình yêu between the main characters I was supposed to feel. Also, it seems that certain couples (Remus/Tonks, Bill/Fleur) are there just so we can say that there is romance in Harry Potter. However, she did an amazing job with Molly/Arthur and Lucius/Narcissa. Perhaps nghề viết văn them came thêm natural to her because she's closer to them in age than to the teenagers.

Everything above is just my opinion. Thank bạn for taking your time to read this article. Have a good day!
