What does it mean when guinea pigs make there noise? i am confused.

My guinea pigs make a range of noises.

Sometimes, when they are near each other, hoặc just sitting on my lap, they squeak very softly. I expect that's just their form of communication.

When they hear the vegetable drawer open, hoặc the cutlery drawer, hoặc a dao, con dao cutting up a carrot, they go berserk! They start squeaking in a loud, high-pitched tone and they sit up all alert and sniff the air. So I'm guessing that means they're excited!

And sometimes when bạn stroke them, hoặc when they snuggle up to each other, they purr. I think that must mean they are content.
