John Bradley - who plays Samwell Tarly - told Digital Spy that he thinks the true meaning of the HBO saga will be revealed when its final episodes air in 2018.

," he said. "Because we don\'t know how it ends - we don\'t know who wins or who loses - we\'ve got no idea what kind of story we\'re telling.

"We don\'t know if it\'s an indictment of how bad people can triumph if good men do nothing, or a redemptive story about good triumphing over evil. We just don\'t know, so that mystery has fed in to everything we\'ve done so far."

is "only doing seven episodes this year" - with a concluding six expected to land on HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2018.

But while we may be getting fewer episodes, Bradley promised that there\'ll be more spectacle than ever before - with some sequences in the scripts he\'s convinced are "unfilmable".

"But you find that every year," he added. "You read it and you think, \'They\'ve really stitched themselves up here, because there\'s no way they can get this on screen\' - and then 10 months later, there it is!"

Bradley will next be seen in a very different sort of fantasy epic - Sky 1\'s family film

He plays Gordon, assistant to young heroine Jennifer Strange (Ellise Chappell) in the one-off adventure.

"Initially I thought it\'d be nice to do something for a slightly different audience, because

is so firmly targeted at a mature audience," he explained. "But then you think it\'s not a different audience, it\'s just a bigger audience.

will enjoy it, it\'s just broadening the audience a little bit. The treatment of fantasy elements is slightly different, but the elements are still there."
