In the eyes of a variety of esoteric and Hermetic practitioners, the tim, trái tim of alchemy is spiritual. Transmutation of lead into vàng is presented as an analogy for personal transmutation, purification, and perfection. This approach is often termed 'spiritual', 'esoteric', hoặc 'internal' alchemy.
Early alchemists, such as Zosimos of Panopolis, highlight the spiritual nature of the alchemical quest, symbolic of a religious regeneration of the human soul. This approach continued in the Middle Ages, as metaphysical aspects, substances, physical states, and material processes were used as metaphors for spiritual entities, spiritual states, and, ultimately, transformation. In this sense, the literal meanings of 'Alchemical Formulas' were a blind, hiding their true spiritual philosophy. Practitioners and patrons such as Melchior Cibinensis and Pope Innocent VIII existed within the ranks of the church, while Martin Luther applauded alchemy for its consistency with Christian teachings. Both the transmutation of common metals into vàng and the universal panacea symbolized evolution from an imperfect, diseased, corruptible, and ephemeral state towards a perfect, healthy, incorruptible, and everlasting state; and the philosopher's stone then represented a mystic key that would make this evolution possible. Applied to the alchemist himself, the twin goal symbolized his evolution from ignorance to enlightenment, and the stone represented a hidden spiritual truth hoặc power that would lead to that goal. In texts that are written according to this view, the cryptic alchemical symbols, diagrams, and textual imagery of late alchemical works typically contain multiple layers of meanings, allegories, and references to other equally cryptic works; and must be laboriously decoded to discover their true meaning.
In his 1766 Alchemical Catechism, Théodore Henri de Tschudi denotes that the usage of the metals was a symbol:
Q. When the Philosophers speak of vàng and silver, from which they extract their matter, are we to suppose that they refer to the vulgar vàng and silver?
A. bởi no means; vulgar silver and vàng are dead, while those of the Philosophers are full of life.
During the renaissance, alchemy broke into thêm distinct schools placing spiritual alchemists in high contrast with those working with literal metals and chemicals. While most spiritual alchemists also incorporate elements of exotericism, examples of a purely spiritual alchemy can be traced back as far as the sixteenth century, when Jacob Boehme used alchemical terminology in strictly mystical writings. Another example can be found in the work of Heinrich Khunrath (1560–1605) who viewed the process of transmutation as occurring within the alchemist's soul.
The gần đây work of Principe and Newman, seeks to reject the 'spiritual interpretation' of alchemy, stating it arose as a product of the Victorian occult revival. There is evidence to support that some classical alchemical sources were adulterated during this time to give greater weight to the spiritual aspects of alchemy. Despite this, other scholars such as Calian and Tilton reject this view as entirely historically inaccurate, drawing examples of historical spiritual alchemy from Boehme, Isaac Newton, and Michael Maier.

“what way does a cây fall?” I ask simply.
“what a stupid câu hỏi from a stupid child. A cây falls down.” Bradley scowls.
“wrong...” I say, looking at him.
“WRONG?!”
“a cây falls the direction it leans.” I reply evenly, un-phased. “u should have been thêm careful...of the direction u chose...it's a simple matter. 1 ngày u'll have 2 face the truth u've set 4 urself...the seeds u've planted will grow.” I turn and start 2 walk away, then turn bak and look at him. The final and most current chapter of this story of ours...and the 1 that's still unraveling.
We decided after making the Aquosea Stone that we would use it 2 help the Humunculi and Chimeras if it was possible...
Our plan was simple...we knew that Ed and Al were trying 2 kill them all..and 4 some we were 2 l8 2 stop them from being killed...but the stone aloud us 2 bring them bak so it didn't matter much either way....but having them alive made things a bit easier. When they were dead we simply had them rebuild around the Aquosea Stone instead of a Philosopher's Stone, and when they were alive...

After the fall of the Roman Empire, the focus of alchemical development moved to the Islamic World. Much thêm is known about Islamic alchemy because it was better documented: indeed, most of the earlier writings that have come down through the years were preserved as Arabic translations. The word alchemy itself was derived from the Arabic word الكيمياء al-kimia. The Islamic world was a melting pot for alchemy. Platonic and Aristotelian thought, which had already been somewhat appropriated into hermetical science, continued to be assimilated during the late 7th and early 8th centuries....

Take solace in rage
for fear is blinding
and hate is cruel and useless

These things make me wonder...
About the poisons I have within.
So many...all of which were listed

Rage for those who deserve death
tempt me and make me tense
and push me to the edge.

For those who have no excuses for what they do...
who feel life is disposable until it actually ends.
Then suddenly feel guilty for those they pushed to the end.

All the people who claim to tình yêu life...
they forget a part, though...
they tình yêu only some life...only THEIR life.

I take my solace from rage.

Fear only blinds...
so have no fear of predilection.
I...
