"Peter!?" Maya exclaimed, disbelief and dissapointment mingling sickeningly in the pit of her stomach. For a moment she'd thought...

Maya simply turned away, ashamed.

"I didn't mean to scare you, it's just, I thought I should pay my respects and..." Peter trailed off.

"It's fine, it's good to see bạn again." she told him half-heartedly. She turned to face him, but he had gone.

Returning to the beach, Maya wiped the dirt off the long shite sari she was wearing, trying not to look flustered. It had been a long day.

"Excuse me?" a pretty indian woman addressed Maya, approaching with a pleasant smile.

"Yes?"

"You were a close friend of Mohinder's, yes?" she asked.

"That's right, we met in New York." she told her, wondering why she was so interested.

"Mira, Mira Shenoy" she said, extended a hand to Maya "Me and Mohinder... we, how do bạn say?.. Had history."
