Is it true Ewan McGregor turned down the role of James Bond, and now regrets it?

I was just wondering, because I think he would be perfect for that role..

Thanks for your answer! I would have loved him as Bond too, to bad the turned it down. And he really was great in thiên thần & Demons!

I think he is the only reason why I watched Angels&Demons in the first place.
