Another show which I bid a fond farewell to this year (at least in the

Downton Abbey. Just like millions of viewers on both sides of the Atlantic, and around the world, I was captivated by this British historical period drama set in a Yorkshire stately home which followed the lives of the aristocratic Crawley Family and their working class staff from 1912 to 1925.

Emmy-nominated outfits from the Julian Fellowes superb series up for consideration this year, designed by Anna Robbins with Assistant Costume Designer Kathryn Tart and Costume Supervisor Michael Weldon.

Maybe because of my love of costumes, but one of the things that I loved about the show was the evolution of the characters fashion as the time periods changed and women became more independent and daring in their looks. Eldest daughter

\'Lady Mary\' was certainly known for pushing boundaries and trying out new styles, whether it be for a formal cocktail party or for managing the business of the estate.

Lily James \'Lady Rose\' a bit of an over enthusiastic youthful replacement for \'Lady Sybil\' (who was killed in childbirth), but warmed to the Crawley\'s ward over the seasons.
