Have bạn noticed that whenever a new Disney film hoặc really any film gets a lot of positive attention when it is in theaters it almost always ends up getting scrutinized again and hated on, even bởi those who loved it once. I understand that sometimes when bạn see a movie again bạn notice flaws bạn hadn't noticed before but does that mean that your whole opinion of the movie should change?
Let me give an example, Frozen.
I remember that 9 out of 10 reviews that I saw for it were very positive. After its release, I still heard almost unanimous praise and everyone that I knew who went to see it đã đưa ý kiến they loved it. The film went on to become the most successful Disney film of all time so it was definitely được ưa chuộng and it became the first non Pixar Disney film to win a Best Animated Film Oscar. The film had so much positive buzz and then all of a sudden I start seeing negative reviews and các bình luận about it after it had received so much success. I've seen các bình luận of people saying that they haven't seen it but they have heard negative things. I find that strange because at first everything was positive with the few negative các bình luận being ignored but now thêm and thêm hate is appearing online. Why? I noticed the same with Công chúa tóc mây and Công chúa tóc xù as well as Wreck it Ralph. It seems like every critical and financial success needs to receive a bunch of praise, go through a strange hate period, maybe from over exposure, and then when a new film comes along it either gets pushed aside and forgotten, generally considered nice, hoặc hailed as a modern classic.
Why are people so quick to turn on and pick apart films they once liked? I always pick apart films but that is during my first viewing, I don't often change my mind after that. I noticed Frozen's flaws but looked at the positive aspects of it and I liked it. It wasn't my yêu thích film and I never đã đưa ý kiến it was Disney's best but it was still great and enjoyable and I'm very picky with films. What is it? Are we so caught up in the emotion of a potentially great film and choose to tình yêu it and go along with everyone else and then after the buzz has died down we look at it closely and realize it's not what we thought it was? Were the nay sayers keeping quiet until the buzz died down?
It happened with Merida. At first everyone loved her for her unique style, then after the film's success s bunch of negative các bình luận about her surfaced like that she was selfish, an Ariel rip off and ugly. Now that people are focusing their hate on Nữ hoàng băng giá thêm positive các bình luận about her are appearing. We are starting to sed thêm tình yêu for her but only after a while and not until someone new came along to hate on.
It happened with Rapunzel. Everyone loved Công chúa tóc mây and Rapunzel, then they starting pointing out its flaws and calling Rapunzel overly perfect and weird looking, and now everyone is used to her and most people like her.
What's wrong with us? Why do we do this? Heap praise on something then tear it down after we get tired of it. This is not an bài viết in defense of Nữ hoàng băng giá but in defense of all good, successful phim chiếu rạp that receive praise then get bashed from all angles. Sure, there are times when films that aren't so good get hyped then hated on for good reason but that's not the case with these Disney films and many other movies.
The opposite happened with The Princess and the Frog. At first, I hadn't heard very positive things and few people were talking about it but now it has tons of fans. I've never been one of them but I've never hated it and I'm happy it has gotten support since its release. I don't know why I wrote this since I'm just ranting. Maybe it's because I'm annoyed that now so many people are going after a genuinely good film seemingly because of it is thêm successful than their yêu thích film hoặc to stand out because so many people tình yêu it. Why are we hearing negative các bình luận now after all of the hype has gone down. Are we going to hate it now? I feel this has happened to every Disney film for many films. I guess this is just the natural life cycle of a film and even the best of them must fall. Even a film as successful as Avatar, that was hailed as one of the greatest films ever on release and received such positive reviews, is now dismissed bởi many people and all its flaws have been fleshed out. For the record, I never liked it, it had beautiful graphics but it was too long and predictable but still it's a good example of a film getting praised then pushed aside after the hype dies down. Even if a film is called overrated doesn't mean its bad. I'm not đắng, cay đắng and think that everyone is entitled to there opinions but why such drastic changes and why are we hearing bad stuff now? Why all the hate? Can't we appreciate? o.k. that was nerdy.
Anyway, I've gone on long enough and I think bạn get the picture. Share your thoughts.
